How should I use my first Riflemen squads vs OKW early game?

Do I move them together and look for fights? Or should I spread them out and try to cap and harass as much as I can?

You can win a 1v1 fight against any enemy unit so you can cap, just be sure to stay in cover or stand close enough to it to jump into it in case you encounter sturmpio. Usually you don't need to think about encountering blobs in first engagement. Spreading out to cap is also advisable because your soldiers are more expensive than enemy ones, that means you have less squads and therefore less capping power.
So basically you should cap but it's also advisable to cap nearby points at the same time to be able to flank early kubel or other mg if it shows up.

Use a buddy system. Send your first 2 rifles to one side of the map. Cap territory in a way that your 1st and 2nd rifle squads meet up with eachother after capping their first point,then go huntin' for some god damn krauts.
2 rifles SHOULD beat most things they come across. They can focus down sturms this way.
Then do the same thing again;send the 3rd-4th rifle and RE to the other side of the map. They should also beat whatveer they come across. Free style from there
remember "Buddy system" doesnt mean BLOB. It just means keep them close enough to where they can support eachother,and wittle down targets before you take too much damage. Use RE's to draw MG fire.
