This looks almost as bad as the Company of Heroes movie, but this time it's set in Company of Heroes 2! Err, I mean, Stalingrad.

http://www.coh2.org/topic/783/movie-trailer-thread/page/3

its made by Russians , but Im afraid it might be bad.. as the acting of actors now days in Russia is really bad and specially they way they are gonna play there that period of time.. and acting like modern people.. you know...

I was trying to figure out which tanks they used. Seems like they wrapped huge plates of metal around the turrets to give them a tiger-ish shape, but they just wind up looking weird.

Looks interesting, the only good Eastern front movie in the past 15 years was Enemy at the Gates.

But... P4 side skirts were first issued mid-1943 (edit: looked it up, wiki says March), and the Battle of Stalingrad lasted until February of the same year.

I guess no-one really cares about that though ;p

So what you are saying is that there were no good Eastern Front movies in the past 15 years.

Pidgey is right about EatG. Also the stupid British accents in that movie are immersion killers.

Ed Harris is always the man though, and Ron Perlman is funny to look at.

Because clearly you didn't watch Cross of Iron. A good ww2 movie doesn't have to be "accurate", I've never heard of a single movie depicting truly authentic TTP, except for perhaps Act of Valor, which was a shitty movie (albeit, with realistic TTP).

The film seems like eye candy glazed over with extra sugar... Not enough kettens to warrant an Oscar.

Edit: I've heard Tears of the Sun is decent in their authenticity, but still way off.

Excellent tips Sturm, thanks!

Also check out my blog entry for a few recommended films:

I don't think many westerners have seen "Come and See" (Idi i Smotri), which is just epic. Careful though, it's brutal and very depressing.

Brest Fortress was pretty good. Nothing spectacular and nothing by itself that really stands out, but pretty solid all around.

haha, who changed the thread title? I guess it's good to be more descriptive but I think it's also silly not to acknowledge how awful the movie looks :P
