Worst blob of all is the para blob with LMG,its immune to mgs more or less with its recieved accuracy and 1919 brutal dmg.

try flak HT , it may even instapin few sqads and kills very fast. Require lot of micro but with some support of LOS and smoke its really good.

You're wrong here. The worst blob ever is volks+obers leaded by an assault officer. I don't think allied have anything to stop that.

Oh that! But i'm not worried,that one will get nerfed sooner or later.Paras will rampage on as usual vs ost.

How many MG34/42s do YOU THINK, in principle, should be needed to pin the blob?



This is a serious question regarding suppression mechanics and anti-blob counters.

Remember, if it costs more of unit A to counter unit B, then you might as well just counter unit B by building more unit B.

As the game stands, currently a blob of infantry can usually focus fire an MG squad and keep sniping the gunner.


EDIT: What I hoped your puny minds intelligent self-respecting internet selves would implicitly answer, is the question, "is the current number of machine guns required to counter this blob satisfactory? Would decreasing this number make countering blobs running across the open easier?"


i read/hear this a lot... how about using your mgs behind your grens? so the enemy cant really focus it without suffering attrition caused by your grens. also they outrange infanty by 10 meters, but cant see that far themselves... theyre called support weapons for a reason
but id still welcome a slight increase in the suppression department

and to answer you question: 1-3 depending on how spread out they are and like a gazillion other factors :snfBarton:

If resources are all that mattered,rather than positioning and unit counters i would play command and conquer kappa.:)

I would guess you need atleast 4 and a spotter unit, if the enemy runs straight into you.

I would set up 2 MGs to surpress at the same time, and a bit behind another 2. With one burst from the 2 frontrow Mgs the blob should be surpressed and at max range of the other two MGs. Immediatly after the first burst, the frontline Mgs are moved back behind the other 2.

If the blob is spread out corecctly I would say you need atleast 6 Mgs.

If they have enough yellow cover I would say you need atleast the same amount of MGs...


BUT:
6 LMG grens and 2 Mg42s will win against 8 Rifleman pretty easy.
