I think this feature is great. If the match would just end when i got a temporary connection issue i wouldn't be able to play this game.

I love this game really but it's a complete buggy game

I also had someone playing against me accuse me of 'using a lag cheat' because they froze for a second while their unit was under fire.

Does someone else have input lags? I have to issue any command about 4 - 5 times until the game accepts it. Playing is nearly impossible for me at the moment.
I played 2 or 3 1v1 yesterday and i had kind of the same problem.
Gave the retreat command, exlamation mark appears, squad stays in cover for another whole second, gets whiped by a nade. Also, commands are executed a lot later. It's really really hard dodging nades like this.

Perhaps it's your connection? I have a crappy 3G connection and sometimes it freezes when i lose connection. It then reconnects and speeds up the game while i catch up.

For me this "feature" is horrible. I get freezes in every match I play. Like many other players who get the freeze-speed ups, I have a decent cable internet connection (vDSL 25k) and no problems whatsoever with other online games such as CS:GO or Dota2. I played CoH1 pretty much throughout its lifetime, and never experienced anything like that.
So apparently CoH 2 requires many players with perfectly good hardware and internet connection to regularly freeze-speed up to stay connected to each other. How is this ready for Esports?
If the freeze-speed up is actually an intentional mechanism to keep people from disconnecting, I suggest Relic come up with something less frustrating and unfair.
It can decide whole matches due to missed retreats, or at least put the player experiencing the freezes at serious disadvantage.
However, considering that many reports of the freeze-speed ups are from single player, replays or people with good connections, I really doubt that the freeze-speed ups work as intended.

It could also have gotten stuck on a crawling model on the ground, been losing squads to that BS lately.

It's not just about retreating units, its every commando.

I foolishly thought switching to a Solid State Drive might help this issue, I was so wrong...
I guess the growing pains of any e-sport include the community trying to work out the developer's technical issues
