MG42 got the machine gun spot with 50% of the vote, partially because it would come earlier than the Maxim (T1 v T2) and also because people considered arc and suppression more important than raw damage

Builder Unit: Sturmpioneers OKW 58%

Core Infantry: Grenadiers Ostheer 32%

Elite Infantry: Obersoldaten 28%

Unlockable Upgrade: IR STG 44 47%

Machine Gun: MG42 50%

Faction now looks like this:

T0: Sturmpioneers

T1: Grenadiers, MG42

T4: Obersoldaten

CP3: IR STG

We are unable to build caches, but Grenadiers can build bunkers and Sturms can salvage

This round, indirect fire options.

This will be interesting, and I really have no idea which way this will go.

I doubt that either the Pack Howitzer or the ISG will get it; and I expect that being in T2 will count against the 82mm

Which makes it a battle between the 120mm and the OKH 81

I voted for the Granatwerfer.

120mm, the longer range is quite valuable imo.

Also don't know how IR STG44s won over M 1919.

I don't like the accuracy of the 120mm though. Personal experience, the fucking thing bombs my lines more than the enemy.

Is your line like 5 metres away from the enemy?o_O I expected that it would at least be 50 metres away.

I chose the Granatwerfer 34 because I like how fast it fires and saturates the area with mortar shells.

I just realized that this is now possible with the power of modding. (In fact, ill probably mod this setup myself for fun after the fantasy faction is complete)
I chose the 120 mm mortar because it is super dangerous to blobs of infantry. Also, it has 6 men and can retreat with only one man.

@Hitman5: I also chose M1919's because the squad that has them can go into a static suppression mode and you can void requiring HMG's with them. I guess because all the other units are long range oriented - other than sturmpios - and the IR STG's balance out the need for close range support.

Nah but too often I see infantry attack my line, get forced to retreat, then 5-10 seconds later my Conscripts explode. :S

This is a tough one, I think I'm going for Soviet mortar because precision strike. 82mm because I don't want to spend CPs to get a mortar. However Ostheer one would come from tier1 so this really is a hard choice.

Voted GrW 34 Mortar, simply because of it's cost effectiveness, accuracy and you don't have to pigeon hole yourself into a doctrine or strat to get it.
