Useful soviet commanders

Hello I have big problem. Soviet commanders without call in tanks are so weak. How to play assasult russian army or joint russian army only with t34 and su85. Its hard to play. Or tank hunters. Mines air run are very good but it on 10 CP. How to play? And please tell me who commanders are best. Without dlc. I have only tank hunters , advanced warfare and anty infantry and conscript support. And common commanders of course.

Guards Motor Coordination (has Guards, T34/85 and mortars and mark target
SOviet SHock Army (Good for aggressive play)
Shock Rifle (very popular choice with Incediary Arty, SHocks, IS2 and KV8)
Mechanized Support (Guards, Bombing Run, Mark Target, ISU)
Shock Motor (Shocks, ISU)
Counterattack (B4, Shocks, KV1)
Urban Defense (Forward HQ is good on some maps)

Terror tactics is really good as well especially to handle all kinds of infantry blobs. Propaganda is very good both ofensively and defensively

Tank Hunter is one of my favourites (though probably not the best), advanced warfare is also good (see Bartons guide) Shock rifle is also very strong.

If it doesn't have a ISU, IS-2 , T34-85s do not use it, its very hard to win without them, thanks relic....

It must have IS-2, ISU, T34/85 or B-4. The rest are meh.

reserve
army are great for improving your conscript play.

Lend Lease Tactics can do well. T1, T2 and then sherman spam for the late game. Con repair, fuel drops, pretty good abilities. The halftrack is meh, DshK is trash. Sherman spam is a solid late game.

Except fueldrops are shot down by OKW starting base defences.
DShK is good for T1 start. Snipers for long range harassment, DShK for screening snipers from enemy infantry.

You're taking a big risk with fuel drops vs OKW, this is true. I've had the plane not commit suicide most of the time, but I can appreciate the lack of enthusiasm to spend 100 munis on what might be a dead plane. Definitely more useful vs OST.
DShK price tag and perfomance is still pretty awful for even that purpose. But yes, that's one thing you can do.

Lend lease is really good I find, i'm not a fan of the DShK at all but the fuel drops are nice as are the Shermans. The M5 is also a very good harassment unit IMO and you have the option of AA package if they are strafe heavy. Conscript repair is meh but still useful if engi dies or is elsewhere.

Mark target and ISU (used with protection, and engis nearby) are great for killing late game german heavy tanks.

If you want conscripts at there AI best, you cant go wrong with conscript support tactics. It never has failed so far to give me a good game using it from the release of COH2 to current patch.
Hit the dirt will get your guys wiped if facing another unit that isent a Support weapon.
