Stug G anti infantry performance

I tried using the Stug G in several games in the past few days and found it's performance against infantry a bit under whelming. It kept missing shots at mid range. I remember this tank receiving an improvement in AA several patches ago, has anything changed since then?

The current stats:

scatter distance 4.0
far 1.25
near 0.5

It is adequate against infantry, but you should be using them like armored pak 40s. If you get the pintle mounted mg upgrade is does fairly well as support, but the real AI stug is the stug E.

Edit: It hasn't changed since that patch.

And nothing changed really.

All AoE profiles were reduced, so near shot that would previously kill a model will now just tickle it.

I thought they nerfed the StuG G's Anti Tank performance and made it more anti-infantry?

Did they change it back, or did I misinterpret what I read?

Nah the AoE got nerfed, but Pen didn't get buffed to compensate, so it performs worse. Arguably justifiable for the price range, especially for a German vehicle.

StuGs, against infantry seem to be quite dependant on the terrain since they rely on scatter. Firing up-hill or with walls in front of them, it's not so as much missing, but more that, with their profile being so low, shots connect with the terrain unlike most vehicles which have the height to usually avoid this. If a car is in front of a StuG it will keep hitting it until it breaks before the shots can connect to the target.
