It still sets up and tears down just as fast as it used to, just won't be able to face other direction as quickly if I read the change right.

Does anyone have the stats of the maxim vs the mg42? I always thought since the maxim didn't have the arc of the MG42 is was supposed to be quicker at tearing down/setting up. But now if they nerfed it, is it better in any way compared to the mg42?
It's probably still the overall best machine gun in the game, it just can't turn to face it's own flank as quick as it used to. Before if you had an enemy coming up on you outside your cone of fire, you could just turn the gun and suppress them. Now it might not work as well.

From my initial gathering, the patch notes look great. sws Flak truck looks to be a reasonable investment now. Great to see TDs all getting hold fire now too.

These changes should force the Soviets to rely less on cheese and more on good combined arms which is how the faction was designed.

The soviet faction was not designed for good combined arms. It was designed for spam. It even said so in one of the loading screen tips, that combined arms is very expensive for Soviets.

I see no changes regarding the broken status of 1v1 USF vs Wehrmacht. USF is still a free win in this matchup then?
Thanks for the 120mm nerf. For a moment it was worth building that thing again. Good fix. AoE weapons kill blobs, can't be having that.
KV-8 and blitz nerfs are fine.
OKW fixes also fine.
Maxim nerf, meh, whatever. I never spammed them anyway and only used them as support weapons so I should be fine.
Also good job on the map fixes, and also in such a timely manner. Some of these maps have only been around for a whole year with glaring imbalances obvious at day one.

That has nothing to do with balance. ppl prob more enjoying ostheer and okw. and sov faction is really bad designed thats why im never ever touching it again.

Well, MG42 is a defensive weapon, maxim is pretty much suppressing LMG squad, that is the main difference.¨

A suppressing Lmg squad with no damage I must add. I tried a maximspam in 2v2, when my mate rolled out his IS-2 at 11 cp I was at 6 cp. Its suppression is good but its damage is awful.
