"Should" is irrelevant in economics, all that matters is whether people will pay for it. Eventually it will be more profitable to give away the game to sell DLC to more people. I would have thought a 'premier' title would last longer than this though.

The problem with COH2 is that it was "Premier" in price (remember that $100 you kissed goodbye on the CE pre-order?) but not "Premier" in content....Hence why you can find it for less than $5.

that's subjective. I love this game and the content feels 'premier' to me.

Look at the low numbers for BOTH free weekends.

They literally can not even give this away.

There were about 10k players online at the latest free weekend. Normally there are only 3-5k.

Commanders should be free or the game itself should be free. Asking people to pay for both is silly. Relic's #1 priority should be growing their player base, not milking the tiny group of players they have right now.

I think paying for the game is reasonable but commanders should be free and accessible to everyone.

Then relic should start promoting the game and advertising it, regardless of payment model.
There is not a single successful game with big population that achieved it without advertising and no, intro on steam is not considered advertising.

Even most successful pay2win game, world of tanks is advertising in a friggin TV.

So let's summarize: Relic's marketing and community team sucks really, really badly.
