Basic info:
  • NOT a traditional CTF with team flags. Instead, several, often two, neutral flags are placed in the map on a neutral territory.
  • The team that brings a flag to their base 10 times wins.
  • A flag drops when:
    • Flag carrier squad uses the drop flag ability (5 second timer) (Looks like radio antenna. Click again to cancel)
    • Flag carrier squad dies
    • Flag carrier squad retreats

  • When a flag is dropped, it will retain its position by spawning where it dropped
  • When a flag is scored, it will spawn to its original position
  • Small radius around the flag is revealed during the flag is not captured
  • Players can see the flag carrier icon through fog of war, thus being able to hunt down the enemy flag
  • A squad carrying the flag gets penalties:
    • Decreased movement speed
    • Increased vulnerability
    • Unable to garrison in vehicles
      • Flag carrier squad disables garrisonable vehicles near by (Currently there is no other way to do iths)
      • Flag carrier squad disables capturable vehicles (abandoned) near by (there's currently no other way to do this)
      • Both disabled garrisonable vehicles and disabled capturable (abandoned) vehicles will recover their abilities once the flag carrier is far enough. Flag carrier only disables player's own vehicles and all neutral capturable (abandoned) vehicles.


  • Players are noted with alerts when a flag changes its status
  • Only for PvP
  • Does not support mixed teams (allies vs allies, axis vs allies)

rails is crap, two players can easily camp one side, and the game depends on time who can walk faster with flags. No mention it looks like the flags are spamming on the same points.

It would be cool for example 2v2 in the city 17 map, and the points are totally random, now the enemy have time to hunt down the flag carriers, not like on Rails where you cant.

This is a good idea. Make the flags spawn semi randomly, but let both players know where that spawn spot will be 30-60 seconds(?) before the flag actually appears.

Wow amazing game mode there Jane. Relic should totally hire you, they could use someone like you =D. I look forward to testing this out =].

Just thought of another game mode based of your principals with the way the flag moved. What about rescue the VIP (aka general) from the enemy base? Like in a Tug of War Style of play. I remember playing a mode similar to that in Warcraft 3. Good times ^.^.

I have suggestions:
1.Defense mode, one side attack, one side defense
2.Escort mode, one side need to escort cargo to a certain position, the other side trying to stop it.
3.Protect civilian mode, one side need to hold the line in order to help civilian to retreat.

Some pretty interesting suggestions, for sure. Now, without turning this thread into a game mode suggestion thread (nothing wrong with it really), does anyone have replays or streams or any other material of them playing this map? I'd like to hear some feedback of the actual gameplay.

Updated with a fix preventing speed modifiers affecting flag carriers.
This means that abilities such as Oorah, for the mother russia, and tactical movement no longer grant speed boosts for flag carriers.

I played a couple of games with the map. It may have just been a failure to adapt, but the game was more static than I expected. Teams generally don't drop the flag off until the spawn point is already secure so all the points come from the same flag.

Was this added as an official map in automatch? At first I saw it in the veto list and I thought "weird, maybe I should clean my workshop maps". So I removed it, but it's still there listed in automatch. Is that just me, or is it official?

Edit: Nevermind, it redownloaded as I was still subscribed to it. But I've never seen a custom map show up in the automatch list. This CTF mode does appear in there though if it's downloaded.
