Apart from RTS games and the odd FPS game I'm a big fan of indie games and other games that doesn't just rely on 'looks'.
Some great (and cheap) games I played 2012/13 so far has been
- FTL: Faster then Light, it has close to an endless replayability
- LIMBO, fun and dark puzzle type game
- Bindings of Isaac, by far my favorite, replayability is great and it's just so... strange.
- Lone Survivor, as the name suggests it's part survival, part puzzle game I guess you could say.
- Deadlight, zombie apocalypse sidescroller, a bit short though.
- Castle Crashers, hack n' slash, great fun in coop with your buddies, I've had it on xbox for a long time but also got it for PC now when it got released.
I've also played some bigger titles like XCOM: Enemy Unknown (the older titles are still better imo though) and Borderlands 2 (yet to play it through with Tommy, we just don't have time after casting).
Throw in a couple of hundreds of hours of DayZ with WmD aswell

(before it got overpopulated by hackers ruining the persistancy aspect completely.)
