Because they are engaging nothing, its called propaganda, its to show "brave soldiers that always succeed".


FWIW a massive amount of Soviet resources was given over to filming newsreels for the homefront. You'll find a great deal of unedited footage showing soldiers being "killed" and then standing up again for the next shoot. A lot of the artillery shoots and marching units are probably genuine but the combat is doubtful. The marching shots are still fascinating though, look at the way one of those StuGs has been destroyed, basically its entire super structure has been lifted off and placed beside the chassis.

I have a book wich deals with Stalingrad and the offense the german troops started in Summer '42! There are some really intense pics, i will see if i can find them and if i find them, i will of course share them with you :)

The whole smooth sloped armour thing of these later war tanks just look so elegant. Personally I prefer the T-34 but that's just me.
