Ill start off by saying that this is not intended to be a whiny thread. We have all been patiently waiting for a balance update. We were told there would be an update released sometime after SNF ends. It's over now and we are all anticipating a nice patch. Relic has been quiet for a while now with the exception of a few nuggets of info ie Tiger Ace nerf. I'm not expecting the patch today of tomorrow or the next day but I, and i am sure you, would like a bit of info. Please Relic!

EDIT: maybe "ETA" was a bad thread title. I am not looking for an ETA, just some info.

Don't start arguing about dates people, it has no use. Just be confident in the fact that the upcoming patch will have solutions and they'll release it as soon as they can do, in other words, as soon as they think it's good enough for us!

Its ready when its ready.
You all know how relic handles patch dates and etas, so you all know its completely pointless to ask before patch stream cast.

My gripe with the current situation is not the lack of communication but the slowdown in patch releases. I think it was Brad, back in December, that said they were sort of happy with the current balance and were going to slow things down, and that call was premature.

What happend to their initial policy of small incremental changes? Now we're waiting on this patch because the changelist got too big?! Meanwhile, there are bugs around that were identified back in November and they're still not fixed.

They adopted the model of a "Game as a service" which is great, but I'm pretty sure one of the biggest features of that model is an agile deployment pipeline. You're not supposed to slow down or have to wait on QA/Balance team because the patch got too bloated.

Wasn't this part of the lessons learned from the vCoh days?

for every solution solved, another problem gets created.

I believe they don't want to give out the changes too early because they don't want people to start arguing about hypothetical effects of incoming balance changes.
I would certainly like it if they would acknowledge the existence of some bugs (eg sniper bug) before the patch drops, just to let us know that there are bug issues that they are aware of and are trying to fix. Of course, they did do that with regard to unit responsiveness, and have hotfixed other things in the past, but more would be nice!

True but hey, at least they did solve one and the newly created might be smaller or less influencial than the solved one. Try to remain positive :)

The beta was just released today, and most people are barely getting home from work or school. Then they need to download 800MB. So, give it some time.
