Unable to publish maps, and new sga's not appearing in game

Hey guys. So, I've hit a rather desperate patch and I could do with any and all feedback!

Since I released Feodosia, I've had problems publishing maps over the Workshop, and despite all of my methods to fix this, nothing seems to work. Additionally, if I send these files to other users, they are able to upload without any problems.

Additionally, I am not unable to find new maps that I have created in game, after exporting them. They sit in the folder, but never appear in game.

As I said, any feedback on this would be great! I'm pretty stuck!

While a previous patch "fixed" special characters in the naming of the files and folders, concerning exporting, I would recommend to get rid of the parenthesis, and spaces. Use underscores to separate segments of the file name.

Example:
2 - 4 Feodosia(4).sga

This has spaces and parenthesis.

Should be...
4p_Feodosia.sga
or
4p_Feodosia_Winter.sga (if u made a winter version)

It is HIGHLY advisable to follow the format the developers used with file naming, even if they "fixed" it in a patch. This also applies to the folder the map files reside in. If you export the data.sga archive, it will give you all the stock maps, and you can see what I am refering to. This is where I would start anyway, it may not fix your problems, but it will eliminate the possibilities.

I had problems using spaces, as the map would not show up ingame despite successful exporting. Switching to underscores did the trick, so thanks for the heads-up.

OKSpitfire: I was amazed at how much better it had become in basically all facets. I think the community balance team had already taken over by the time I came back.

OKSpitfire: It's hard to recall, exactly. I think I did what a lot of long time fans have done with 3: I was so disappointed by it on release that I just forgot all about the game and didn't play it all for about four years.

Rosbone: I bring it up because I see reviews are black and white. People love it or hate it. Was this the way Coh2 was back in the day? I recall people telling me to stay away for a while.

Rosbone: On July 15th, Coh3 received a lot of bad reviews. It is at 45% recent and will drop more soon. That game seems DOA more and more every minute.

OKSpitfire: I do like the Guastatori voices too, in fairness but the rest are so forgettable... Coh 1 and 2 had some hilarious lines and of course the absurdly over the top "PRIDE OF THE FATHERLAND" caricature evil tiger commander :lolol:

Rosbone: It also feels weird that Coh3 is missing snow/rain etc. Feels more like vCoh Definitive Edition than Coh3.

Rosbone: Ahhh so Coh3 is on schedule. The last big thing is observation mode. There are like 3 modes but none are usable for learning. And things will be missed when casting. but I dont see them doing any more updates.

aerafield: 3 years give or take, in the middle of 2016 (around 9 months after brits release), Relic stopped caring about CoH2 patches and passed the torch on to a community team

Rosbone: By ending development they are literally killing their own IP. no one cares about Coh3 because it will never evolve. It is in a done state. the end. So their is nothing to report and build hype around.

Rosbone: @aerafield I agree. It is a working game. It will not get the Coh2 people to come over and it is not finished yet. So there is really nothing to talk about for Coh3.
