Just bought the game through steam and iam stunned. I had chance to play this during close beta, already there optimisation was crap, but now, huh. Now with everything on low i cant run this game. During first mission i have like 17-22 fps, my whole 4gb of ram are used, hardrive working all the time. Simply its unplayable. Can someone explain me what the f*ck is going on with this thing and how to make it playable on pc which runs games like BF4 or Crysis?

Phenom II x4 #,1GHz
4gb 1600mhz ram
hd 5850 1gb oc

windows 7 ultimate 64bit

AA is hard on RTS, try lowering that setting.

4gb isn't enough - the game used to hang for me at the start of matches before I upgraded to 8.

Your system is fine for COH2, the game is just optimized extremely poorly. Turn off VSync and turn AA off and you should be fine.

Also, Replays.. Replays.. if you turn that off you'll see a increase in FPS. What you do is, You'll need to make that folder which replays are saved in, unable to save or edit files within in it. It'll make CoH2 unable to save replays, and there you gain alot of FPS. however, you wont be able to show how awesome you are with your replays. :-)

What does this mean? Optimised extremely poorly?

It is generally accepted that CoH2 has fairly poor netcode and internal optimisation; i.e. you get poor performance (regardless of your specs) when compared to other games with similar requirements.

The netcode combined with the peer-to-peer servers used by the game (via Steam) is one of the major complaints, and presumably the reason so many people experience lag.

There was a nice fix not long ago - improving unit response times by making it so that they now interrupt their current animation cycle when given an order, rather than simply queuing that order whilst the animation fished - but that won't solve things like connection-based input lag, frequent disconnects/out-of-sync errors and generally poor performance on even high end rigs.

Personally I experience few if any of these issues, but I know that a lot of people do.

Set physics to low, physics calculations are always a massive resource hog.

I don't think your specs are ok. Mine were a lot better than yours but the game still was not playable in multiplayer. I had to upgrade the whole system. It cost me $506 in total with tax and shipping.
Definitely, get better video like 7xxx and up, also it must be at least 8 gb of ram.

Poorly as in its the worst optimized game I've ever seen.

Lets be honest, COH2 looks nice but not that nice, and even graphically inferior to COH1 imo. Its no Far Cry 3 or Crysis or anywhere even in the same league. But yet it gets the worst and most unpredictable performance of any game out right now. They didnt even bother to make SLI and Crossfire work lol. It's just a superglue and bubble gum job all the way.

I could not agree more.
