What's ST?
I dont know either. Suddenly several people have started using this term since yesterday on forums. Never seen it before. Im looking at T2 roster and have no idea what it refers to. Maybe a translation thing?
Sniper Team, maybe?

ST = Shock Troops, doesn't seem that complicated...? Although just saying Shocks is easier for everyone.

Although Guard actually also beat vanilla Grens, and some Guard Commanders are very strong in abilities, so even though Shocks, with their extremely earlygame aggressive map contol are one issue at CP1, Guards are not that far behind, they just arent as popular or problematic to deal with by conventional Ost AI.

Shocks come out so early now you can really put a lot of pressure on the ost. I usually go 3 conscripts > shocks > t2 for atg > t4 for su-85 and katusha. Works out to a flexible army. I like the Shocks-kv8-is2 doctrine, and the shocks-conscript repair-isu152 the best for this strat.

just talking 1v1, I go tier 2 one con 2 mg's and 2 shocks then AT guns, I went off guards because of Axis elite infantry or for that matter just pgrens ruining my day, there never seemed a point having AT capability when my enemies infantry could just run through me, my whole game revolves around controlling the infantry war, which I kept losing using guards.
the flame halftrack hurts, but I mine early and try to get AT guns out about the same time.
Had way more success with shocks than guards.

Same here, shocks always work better for me than guards. Guards are pulling to much mp and muni that I would rather save for IL-2 runs.
