Will Coh3 looks this good? What kind of cool new features will it have in the worldbuilder?

(4) Belgorod Rain

I have been doing a lot of programming and needed something to do to shut my brain off. So I started creating a version of Belgorod that was a little less open and had some of the things that make Coh2 what it is. Like buildings, green cover etc.

Coh2 is dead. But I felt the rain effects were so cool I wanted to post it for people to check out. Nothing special just a nice ambience ala Port of Hamburg.

I wanted to show just how cool the Coh2 engine and Worldbuilder are. I am barely scratching the surface of what it can do and it looks cool.

FOR MAPPERS:
1) I used simple rain settings to create a soft mid summer rain feel.
2) Increased the GLOSS lighting in ATMOSPHERE SETTINGS/MISC ENVIRONMENT.
3) Used the Cement\Cement_Puddle tile texture to create wet areas. Painting this under splats that had see thru areas really popped.
4) Used the FX Action Marker fx_ambient\water\raining_ground_ripple_01_hugelight to get some random drops hitting land effects.

Awesome! Major complaints with Belgorod was it is too open. So I added a lot of different objects to create closer range fights and allow for more flanking. I also wanted to add some buildings and green cover here and there. Still no red cover anywhere though.

If only there was lightning & thunderstorm effects in CoH2 :guyokay:

In CoH1 there was a 2v2 automatch map that had it.... the performance was horrible with 10 average fps but I absolutely loved it

I tinted the lightning flash to be a little pink/red to emphasize the colours of the map but you can change a lot of the weather effects to a great degree.

I think this is half right, the other half being that coh2 is just so poorly optimized. Even on state of the art PCs from the last few years the game struggles to have a consistent framerate.
