My anti virus triggered instantly

Its amazing how many people still fall for something like that.
But it explains all the random friend invites recently.
Couple of weeks ago I've met some old champ on steam whose friend fell victim to it and he was asking for help on his behalf despite not having any other contact with him. Poor sob was old enough to have most of his friends on the other side.

That's very unfortunate. It's sad people take advantage of older folks.

I encourage everyone to add steam guard authentication to their phone for maximum account security.

Over 8 people have messaged me this within a year. All of them had their accounts compromised, some of them entire friends list deleted.

This +as long as you have credit card payments, its easy to recover account.
2 step authentication is a bother to set up, but its extremely important to do it for pretty much any account you can.
