AVRE Petard Mortar Round Does Not Hit Center of Circle

I've tried shooting the AVRE expecting the mortar to hit the center of the circle, however it will always hit on the circumference of the circle that is nearest the tank.

Is this a bug? Has this always been like this?

The sturmtiger has the same issue. It's due to the fact the weapons' arcs are quite shallow, and their hitbox intersects the ground too soon as it attempts to reach the aim point.

its been like this for ages, so the solution is just to aim behind ur target, simple

Yes, I figured so. But I'm pointing out that it doesn't feel intuitive.

The Sturmtiger is much worse in this regard. AVRE is relatively accurate as long as you aim slightly behind your target.

I think this applies to most if not all scatter weapons. Some are more extreme than others.
