IS-2/ISU-152 vs Tiger Ace
Posts: 45
I was wondering how my favorite doctrines (Shock Rifle & Shock Motor) with their respective IS-2 and ISU-152 would cope against the Tiger Ace. I rearly build tier 4 and rather wait for this Soviet baddys to come out, will optionally two of these be able to withstand the new German Big Dog?
If anyone have the Tiger Ace stats i guess i could figure it out myself but can`t find them.
Thanks

of the two, id say the isu152 is your best bet just because of its range. the is2 will have less range than the tiger (it can get the same +10 bonus if you vet it though). is2 loses to a normal tiger, so its really no match for the tiger ace unless you have a lot of AT support. thats why i would say mines + isu152 is your best option. just disable it, then finish it off without taking any hits.
as long as you slow the tiger down, su85 also does this very well.

The ISU-152 commander with guards, mark target, and IL2 bombing runs would probably be your best bet. Button, mark target, bomb and pound away with the ISU. Even then it will probably be iffy lol.

Ye, but i don`t have this Commander so in that case i was thinking mabye the Guard Motor could be an option instead now that the T-34/85 has gotten a buff and to get Guard Infantry and the Mark Vehicle ability? Or will the T-34/85`s maybe just get one shotted?

against this commander, ur hope is really to cripple the germans so hard that he has nothing left so you can focus fire on it. or somehow manage to destroy its gun, then deal with the supporting troops while he scrambles to repair his precious.

This is the only way to properly deal with the tiger ace; win before it comes out.

just finished off another tiger ace. havent lost to it yet. mines really are this tanks worst enemy. its incredibly slow with engine damage.
If you manage to get an AT nade on the Tiger Ace, afterwards, it should be enough for a SU-85 to take it out.
Also, this tank has insane AI. IMO, I reckon this needs to be toned down.

Permanently BannedKeep it engine dmged/buttoned, Mine approaches to your base to slow base rush, and focus on wrecking infantry, even at MP loss to yourself.
Ost lack of MP income will begin to show dramatically once his savings reach zero.
Really dramatically. You just need to hold on long enough to bleed it dry.
Dont get tunnelvision on the Ace.
Kill infantry, which is something Sov armor also is generally more weighed towards anyways.
Use ZiS to Barrage, especially repairing Pios, rather than shooting at the Ace itself.
Second target priority is PGrens, to cause as hard MP bleed as possible.
Even if he has PIV support, STILL focus even ZiS on infantry.
ATNade the PIVs, and keep killing infantry.
Every single infantry model kill leverages your MP income vs his halted one.
If youve got T4, I recommend Su76 instead of SU85s. Their cheapness is a boon at this pointas is the range of the Brrage to help keep them out of AT range. Barrage the fk out of his infantry, with perhaps a single Su85 to hold eager PIVs at bay atleast a little.
If t3, shamelessly Ram supporting PIVs, without regret. The point is to split his Pio repair capacity and prevent a base rush before you can sufficiently bleed his MP. At this point a single infantry model kill is worth more to you than a penetrating hit on his armor units.
Seems counterintuitive, but the its better to strike at this Commanders Achilles Heel, which is his small saved MP pool, rather than at his strength, which is the monstrous Ace itself.

It does help a lot to land an AT nade or a ram on it. But doing just that is really hard because everything that comes near the damn thing, gets destroyed.
Especially in team games where ppl have adopted the concept of escorting the TA with other tanks (which is why mines aren't THE solution either).

What? I thought a is2 can do damn well against our micheal Hartmann ace. I just had a game where my tiger ace was pretty badly bruised by a is2. Granted he had good position on me but when I did get into a better firing position his armor actually deflected a shot or two. I actually pulled back which in turn stalled my advance which ultimately led to my defeat.
