More bugsplats and dump 183s since the last major patch (?)

Since the last major patch, I and several of my friends are experiencing the classic bugsplats and 'couldn't create dump file' errors. Before, we got one every 20-30 games. Now we get one every other game.

We already followed the sticky on possible mitigations.

What we already did:

- Increase pagefile size to >RAM
- Restart COH2 every single game
- Remove background movies
- Remove old replay files each game
- Close all browsers and other background programs which could otherwise allocate new (V)RAM.
- Verify game integrity on steam
- Edit: two of us tried a fresh re-install (not resulting in improvements).

Notes:
- We don't see any obviously related messages in warnings.log
- Crashes seem to occur more often in 3v3 and 4v4, but I don't know whether this is a proportional effect (e.g. game of 8 players = double odds w.r.t. a game with 4 players crashing), or whether this scales non-linearly.

COH2 is my all time favourite game; this is so frustrating. Is anyone else experiencing a similar increase in crashes, and does anyone have a clue how to fix or improve this?

yeah I remember after a patch some while ago I had a dumpfile error in every match loading screen (even if I just wanted to watch a live match in observer mode)... I think first I tried verifying my local files, which didnt work. Then I re-installed and it was working again

I'll try this again and recommend my friends to do the same. It has been a months since we reinstalled. Perhaps it has something to do with the smaller updates, or the fact that I use the numerical veterancy descriptions mod. It could also be windows 10 1903+.

I'll leave an update if it changed anything in the coming weeks (we play together 2~3x a week).

Meanwhile, other suggestions or experiences are very welcome!

Adding Windows Borderless to COH 2 also helps when combined with the above tweak I posted.


Go to Steam -> Library -> Right Click on COH2 and go to properties
on lauch parameters add:

-window -fullwindow -lockmouse

Thanks. Good suggestion. I currently have "-nomovies -window -fullwindow -forceactive -lockMouse" as launch arguments, but I don't think my friends have. I'll suggest them to try this.
