I suspect the new commanders will be free, they would have announced them as paid DLC if they weren't, just as they did the first pack. Plus the game needs new free commanders first before they release another pack.
Wouldn't be surprised if one of those commanders had abilities from the DLC commanders. For example, the defense commanders could get thing like trenches, FHQ, StuG IIIE, or the 45mm at gun.

They usually use such methods to measure the active community that might visit the site and participate in the community.
Sounds like all ToW missions will be co-op activated now. Let's just hope they let more than 2 players in because my CoH group is at least 3 players including myself, with a sometimes 4th player, and we would love to play co-op.

Very long but for those who don't want to shuffle through vet changes here are some noticeable bits:
180 degree firing.
No more building insta-explosions, but fire and aoe effect are better against them.
Tanks less accurate on the move vs infantry.
T34/85, ju-87 anti-tank buffs.
120mm nerf.
No more blitz or overdrive with engine damage!
Early soviet buildings build twice as fast.
More starting resources for both factions.
Panther, Brumbar, Elefant, and ISU-152 price changes.
Vet changes for everyone!!!

That's a 180 degree front arc, if it's true at all. So 90 degrees to either side. They would never allow infantry to fire behind them.
I guess that makes a bit more sense. Although I believe they did used to fire behind themselves a bit in vcoh.

Also if that is something from the beta, it's really incomplete, and from an earlier version of the beta.
The real changelog should be quite interesting.
