I don't know how the guy does it, but he does. My hardest game on CoH2 yet. really well played by condemnationwings.

This is Standard Soviet Play (albeit well executed). Once Soviet's have Snipers + Su-85 its gg. Germans need to win in early game or OPEL Strafe Abuse to have a chance late game.

The root of the problem is no German Hard counter to Sniper + Su-85. The Halftrack provides Soft Counter to Sniper until Katyusha which prevents blobbing and effectively kills your soft counter. In fact, the Kat was the turning point of the game because it marked the dominance of Sniper + Su-85 (the snipers had a total of about 80 Kills).

Relic needs to take a hard look at the German Sniper. You shouldn't need a VET 1 German sniper just for it to finally be able to act in a counter snipe role against a VET 0 Soviet Sniper and die when someone sneezes at it.

I agree with you, the late game 3xsnipers and 3 su-85s was too much, my infantry died instantly and i think if i had turtled a bit more, get 1 more panther, i might've had a chance. well that's that.

There really is no reason why the soviets should have the Long ranged tank - it dosent jive at all with the rest of their units, although its insanely good. Right now its just bad for tank battles, because its a massive disensentive for germans to build there own vehicles, though they have to, what else is there to build with the fuel?
Before, with the powerful strafe, you could pin/flank. There gonna realise that nerfing the p4 was retarded, that it was actually only a good unit in tandem with strafe, and that by nerfing strafe they also nerfed p4s - so it was a double nerf in reality.
Also winter sucks for germans.

Also, why primarily german snipers suck - hoorah. You get chased alot and are forced to retreat often making them very innefective. Plus the unit kill/MP difference is also massive, although they are technically more effective, ie fire faster.

Fuel should be saved up for an Elephant. Also, while the Tiger still kinda sucks Offensively, it's Frontal Armor is Brutal and b/c Su-085 are prone to always engage from front cause they don't want to be flanked you can do a Tiger/Pak push.

The problem with the big boy is though that hes a 5 CP unit, and often the Su85 can be on the field for a good while mins before you get 5 cp.

Well used SU Sniper team/s with protection under Guards, or at least AT nade capable Conscript, can't be harmed easy in current metagame in early game, mid game. They drain a huge amount of MP from you. In late game, playing the SU 85 spam with SU sniper team spam, is abuse, nothing else.

Tiger don't worth his price vs SU 85, where you need attack because your sight-fire range shorter, but behind enemy lines you get the AT nade/button, SU85 backpedal, use his longer fire range, and kill a 2x expensive unit most of time, easy.

Elephant is the only good solution, or a good placed Pak 43, but enemy 3 sniper teams can decrew Pak in 1 volley... So Elephant, or pray next time for better lucky panzerwerfer barrage vs SU sniper teams.

I wait the new patch, you deserved the win, but abuse save the day for SU player.

Exactly. This, and the fact that Soviet players MUST go Guards Rifle (making all soviet play cookie-cutter) are the two main issues with the game atm.

I can play sometimes good games as SU without Guards, using T2 open, AT gun, supported with AT nade cabable Conscripts, and Shock Troopers with mg, mortar, Conscript swarm hold the lines vs PG, MG, Grens.

But now, Guards far safer bet yes, than Shock troopers. SU Sniper team, and SU85 both broken unit alone too, with together in Synergy, the OP is multiplier...

As much as I hated Sniper Micro in COH 1, having snipers being able to counter themselves is a necessary evil in this game in order to have balance. The game mechanics shouldn't force you to rely on a "lucky" mortar or Arty hit.
