My first multiplayer game. Feel like I blew an advantage. Looking for critiques.

Here are my thought after seeing the replay for the 1st time.
I'm not the best player but I think i can point out some stuff. First off all I found your opponnent to be quite slow
Ill point out stuff in the order it happens

- -Don't build the 1st building immediately if you wont build stuff right after its done. It hinders your initial capping point by mp and occupies your engineer.
- -I wouldnt show your scout car before anything is loaded into it. Its not the best unit when not garrisoned and shows what your plans are.
- -You drove into a full health grenadier squad a couple of times, NEVER do that since he can easily faust it and call in another gren or mg. Like i said your opponnent never fired a faust when it was in range but most other players will
- -if the only use of your penal battalion is to get a flamer and place them in the m3, then its better to equip your engineer with flamer instead and save 360 mp for a guard suqad or something else
- -1 squad lost, always check the units when they are firing and the voice lines are a good cue as well
- -when an enemy squad moves out of the area during the molotov animation, you can just cancel it and throw it again. Sometimes they wont expect this.
- -Why build T2 when you already have T1? There are ofcourse reasons for but dont do that in the early game. Before you build any of the 2 buldings decide what you want. it
- wastes a lot of time and fuel
- -you had a nice fuel advantage so why get a at gun, I would have teched to t3 for t70
- -nice move to keep harassing his fuel
- -houses are really fragile, not safe when tanks are around
- -you had only the at gun and at nades when the p4 came out. Try to have at least one guard as well at that point
- -why get the mortar when he has no mg and his p4 is roaming? Again guards would be better
To sum up, you played good at the early game, good map control with the m3 plus conscript due to lack of mg's.
I think your biggest mistake was to go t2 instead of t4. you could have one su 85 out at the same time or faster when his p4 came out. I also think you should rarely build penals and get flame on your engineers instead.
I may sound harsh, I have never done this before, hope this helps!

I don't think that was harsh at all. I knew I made micro mistakes. I appreciate the honest review. Honestly I didn't even think about going straight to T4 when I was building T2. Hindsight is 20/20 but that would have ensured my win I think. I believe the mortar squad was completed before I was fully aware of the p4.
Are guards that effective against a p4? I wouldn't have even thought to build guards as a viable counter to a medium tank. I'll plan on incorporating guards into my next game.
Thanks again.

They are not effective against them for damage but more for small damage and harassment and if you upgrade them with lmg's then can "button" tanks making them easy target for su85 or atguns

Okay then. I'll keep that in mind.
However I did want to say I was in a very similar situation in my second game. Although I feel my opponent was weaker this time - and a tad slower - going straight to T3 after a decent sized T1 advantage won me the game handily. Thanks for the advice.

Sure, there are two ways:
- Pressing the stop command (S or W)
- Give a new move order
You can cancel the molotov up until the molotov is actually in the air. The animation is long before he actually throws the molotov

I think moving does not cancel it. The stop key is faster and more effective
