I don't usually complain about anything really in-game, but this match was pretty ridiculous. GG WP nonetheless. And before you say "Y no mortar?" I did use a mortar, and it got killed by the mg42 too.

i suppose US should have more ammunition in mid/late game to spam smoke grenades to flank Mgs, but still its pretty hard to counter
But US also have pretty good artillery units to snipe those MG from far away too etc

yea good luck flanking on certain maps with no ammo early game. Meanwhile your wasting ammo just for him to retreat.
I've noticed mg's tearing up lately again like old times. Then if they have 2 mgs...then what? Nothing to flank. And you cant take on the sturm horde on the other side.
I believe the US should have a sniper, single squad with some cool abilities. AND they should get T1 mgs or AT least normal freaking mortars. Not Mortar HTs that have so very limited line of sight. I know good players that tear up in 3on3 / 4on4 with the US/Soviets but in 1on1 US suck vs any decent OKW/Wehr player. Just my humble opinion. You have to scratch and claw to win while they just play cat and mouse with your units. The BARS upgrade should be FREE not cost 60 ammo just to pick it up...SO dumb. The rifles even in mass won't kill a tank in the same fashion the Volks will...utter BS if you ask me. Why didn't the US also get vet 5 units?
So many things I don't agree with. I know Rifles beat Grens and even Volks right off the bat...but mgs...uggg...
Also vet 5 volks with shreks...literally ridiculous. 1 squad would not die to the explosive rounds I was using and it killed a Sherman and lived by the time it was dead. That sounds realistic. And it appears to have no crush because I was trying to run him over to no avail. I'm given up making the "medium" shermans to fight off infantry. It simply fails to work against even 2 Volk squads.
I'd post the replay but it's ridiculous that I had the entire map only to lose late game to VPS from infantry spam while instead of going arty....which might have made the difference in me winning vs losing. Mixed troops vs Volkspam and the mortar barrage thing....simply ridiculous. I also took out 2 trucks I believe. 48 min loss. I only made shermans in the first place because I knew he was hurting for fuel. I had no idea that2 Volks could take on 2 Shermans.

Americans have so many artillery options, yet barely any of them were used against an enemy who had nearly only static units.
Then a lot of Wolverines were pointlessly lost when trying to use them against infantry like regular tanks instead of like tank destroyers. If all that fuel to replace the Wolverines was saved it could be used instead to buy for example actual tanks to roll over the enemy.
And then Machine Guns are suddenly overpowered because they actually become very potent at Veterancy 3... like a lot of other units do.

no snipers was the best decision relic could do. i hate snipers in coh1 and 2. they slow down the game and need no skill. thx relic, plz dont listen to all the whiners

Fact MG42 on close combat maps are impossible to overcome...they do need some nerfing imo

Try an M20, they don't get owned by scout cars, are super fast, and only cost 20 fuel. Oh and they can lay tellers. You can drive right up to an exposed mg42 and kill it in seconds. They also shred grens.

The M20 beats a 221, and does good damage at medium and close range to the 222. If upgraded with skirts I think it reliably beats a 222 at medium range. I've only encountered this once, and my opponent micro'd his 222 poorly, so my M20 won easily.
