Tric Presents: The Seasonal Map Cup

highlight
`Tis the season folks! "What season?" you might ask, but wait, we have you covered! Introducing: The Seasonal Map Cup by our very own Senior Mapmaker Tric.

This tourney will feature custom maps, which our Mapmaker created under the consultations with some of the best players in the game. For the first season, VonIvan, DevM, Theo and Talisman have provided their experiences on the grim frontlines of the war to help create a pool of maps to be used in this tourney.

Every four months, these maps will change and we will host a new tourney, to showcase the works of our Mapmakers and the pros.

So how can you participate? What’s the rules? Comin‘ right up!

Details

The 16 best players will be selected after the sign ups have closed. They will compete in the tournament. Meanwhile, 4 other players will be chosen as reserves in case a player cannot make it.

The teams will do a coin toss to decide the first pick of either the map or faction.

Map Vetoes and Faction Selection

BO3:

  • Game 1: coin toss winner picks either the map OR faction first.
Then coin toss loser chooses their faction AND the map if one is not yet picked. Then the coin toss winner chooses their faction if he hasn't chosen one yet.
  • Game 2: players swap Allied/ Axis and play the same map as G1. The player that chose faction in game 1 second, now chooses his faction first.
  • Game 3: VP leader chooses faction first on a map that has not been played
in set preference order of map 1, map 2, map 3, map 4 or map 5 as shown in map pool.

BO5:

  • Game 1-2: same as BO3.
  • Game 3: coin toss loser chooses either the map OR their faction first.
Then coin toss winner chooses their faction AND chooses the map if one is not yet picked.
  • Game 4: players swap Allied/ Axis and play same map as G3. The player that chose faction second in game 3, now chooses his faction first.
  • Game 5: VP leader chooses faction first on a map that has not been played
in set preference order of map 1, map 2, map 3, map 4 or map 5 as shown in map pool.

Other Details

  • Lateness may result in VP penalities or worse. This is decided by the referees/organisers.
  • 5 min break between games, in extreme cases a longer break can be give by the referees/organisers. This however doesn't happen without the permission of a referee/organiser!
  • Match fixing is disallowed.
  • Please restart CoH2 before any tournament game and close external programs before playing, to avoid crashes.
  • Bugsplats: If there is a bugsplat within 7 minutes the game will be replayed, assuming no player suffered huge losses. Example: Player 1 "bugsplats" after 5 min after losing his whole army except one pioneer. In such a case the referees/organisers make a decision of what will happen. If there is a bugsplat after 7 minutes the referees/organisers will do either one of these things:

    • If both teams agree, the game will be replayed.
    • If both teams don't agree and if there is a clear winner according to the referees/organizers, then a win will be given. In case there isn't a clear winner the referees/organizers will make a decision of what is going to happen.

However, the player that bugsplatted has to screenshot the crash with windows time/date showing! If this doesn't happen within 5 minutes the referees/organizers are allowed to give the win to the team that didn't bugsplat.
  • If there is any sign of cheating during the games, contact the referees/organizers. They will decide what happens.
  • Report your scores in the steam group chat! Referees/organizers will insert the scores on challonge, the website on which the brackets will be view-able as well. The links to the brackets will be given after the sign-ups ended and before the tournament starts!
  • Check-ins are in the steam group chat! The check-ins start 30 minutes before the actual tournament day starts.
  • If you fail to show up for matches within 10 min after your previous round and the previous round of your new opponent, you will be disqualified as well.

The winning player of the match must upload all games and link them into this thread. You run the risk of being banned from future events if you do not upload all your games! So do not forget!

Please upload the replays with this format name:
