Any idea of when the closed beta starts?

I read a month ago on the Company of Heroes facebook page that the beta will begin on December 1.
The post was written by a boy went to the event of paris.

I hope he's right :D

Favourite scene: That fixed german arty letting go on the KVs on the ice. Awesome sound and authenticy!

Wow, I would be soooo pissed when my trailer get butchered up by some guys and gals from a gaming TV format.

means: "Forward to" and this sign to the left is the Brandenburger Tor, so it's "Forward to Berlin"

im pretty sure that sniper had Gewehr 43 scoped semi-auto sniper rifle.
There cant be semi automatic snipers, can there?

EDIT:upon further reviewit may have been a scoped k98, but i am still of the opinion that it looks more like a g43

Heh, I suppose sign on the tank is a rude translation of "Go on!". "Вперед на" in English ----> "Go on the" which is senseless so it'd be good to correct the sign, just "Вперед" would be ok.

And I'm worried about white stars on tanks instead red stars as Imperial Dane worried about shawls on grenadiers =)

are you sure? My russian friend told me it's the classic "forward to Berlin", which you can find on postcards and everywhere.

Well, then where is "Berlin" sign? Of course it can be on the right side of the tank but it'd be... strange.

you see that little sign on the left? the horizontal bar with 4 vertical collumns? Thats a scatch of the Brandenburger Tor, a remarkable sign for Berlin

I am no expert of partical efects and Physics . But , Think after the stunning screen shots the expectation was high - for me its a let down on the visual side- The explosions at the start of the trailer , The tank shell explosions and the MG visual look a tad outdated . (honestly though , Ingame the effects hardy matter ).

The sound is stunning - cant imagine how those weapons sound in game

<----- Brandenburg Tor!! :)

Favourite scene: That fixed german arty letting go on the KVs on the ice. Awesome sound and authenticy!

This scene kinda confused me actually, because the narration had just made a point about the war having a "turning point." On the Eastern Front, you would naturally think of the Russians holding at Stalingrad, but the trailer shows us German arty owning advancing Russian tanks. That didn't make sense to me.

During the katyusha barrage you can also see a russian howisters, so both factions now have on map "105s" :P

Yeah, the russian winter hadn't had a wehrmacht favouring effect. When did the Wehrmacht got stuck in the mud just before Moscow?! 1942? That was a turning point, imo. And Stalingrad of course...

But hey, nitpicking here, at least it hasn't had this "Red Empire" nonsense in it! :)

Lol, didn't pay attention. Thanx. I think most of Russian soldiers didn't even know about Brandenburger Tor though =) Anyways I doubt anyone will care about this sign.

To heave these observations over to this thread:

0:48 -> T34/85 or IS?! The gun seems to small for an 122mm, but I'm no tank ace...
0:58 -> again T34/85 or IS-type.
1:00 -> SU 152

Don't know if these were known to be ingame before. Does anyone know which T34 will be in game (the 43 turret seems to be featured and not the first production turret).

Ah, nice of you to translate that. I talked to a mate who knows russian and who told me it meant basically "forward!" or "Go on!" depending on how you translate. We missed out on the Brandenburger Tor though so it kinda puts the last piece to the puzzle. :D

The thumbnail screenshot I took for GR with Germans reloading the 105s were my absolute favorite. Pause the game there and replay that sequence. The details, lightning, animation, my god. The game sometimes look grainy or bad if you pause it, but in motion and in sunlight it looks amazing.^^

Sometimes games sadly think that reality is grey as fuck and therefore make their games grey with shades of brown. It seems Relic avoided that with showing splendid sunshine and nice weather, the kind of envoirament that make me feel relaxed and making you kind of see the beauty in what graphics can create towards the stark contrast of people fighting and dying. That is how you do it! You don't show it as if it is some grey alternate reality that is mentally exhausting to look at, you make it look like reality. I love it. :)
