Apply as an Artist
The Artist position is for people who can picture an epic scene in their head, and make it a reality: news highlights, tourney and casting splash screens, guide illustrations, and videos. Every single picture on this website has a creative mind behind it, and we need more of them!
Your tasks:
The bread and butter work of our artists is to provide images for portal content, in particular "highlight images." However, that is not the only canvas which needs paint. If a Strategist needs help with images for his new Soviet Guide, illustrating tactical movement etc., we will need you there to assist him. If our Casters and Referees are organizing a new tournament format, or are hosting an event and need a banner, or brackets for illustration, you will be there to help them. We are also constantly expanding our features and styling. If you have any skills in Video editing, this would be very helpful, because videos gain a lot more attention these days, when announcing something big!
Here is a list of things which you would probably need to be an Artist on COH2.ORG:
- Above-average skills in graphic design, using professional 2D design software, like Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator or GIMP. This means we want you to be able to do more than just adding some text, strokes or blending options to existing graphics.
- If you have skills in Video editing, you are a welcome addition to the Staff as well. Currently we do not have the manpower to create Videos for our Social Media, or other similar content.
- You need creativity to dream up new and unique highlight designs for our portal content, and for Videos of varying purpose.
- Time! Images and Videos are often the bottleneck for new portal content and Social Media Announcements, so we need our artists to be responsive and to be able to provide pictures within a reasonable time frame!
- Powerful computer hardware would be a nice bonus, because it would allow you to take your own high quality in-game screenshots and videos for your content.
Do you think you have what it takes? Please apply, by sending a PM to our Lead Artist, TM Dutchy. In your application, please provide some information about yourself and your experience as a graphic designer. If you have an online portfolio, please supply the link.
Apply as a Writer
There is not a single piece of content which does not involve writing. Newsposts, Announcements, Strategy Guides and anything else published on this site, have to be written, edited, and formatted to look professional and be understandable.
Your tasks:
From producing original articles for COH2.ORG, to reporting COH2-related news, to working together with other staff and community members to ensure that the content on COH2.ORG meets the most exacting standards of quality, the Writers and Editors of the Editing Room are directly involved in every project. New content is always welcome on COH2.ORG, so anyone with original ideas for features, is encouraged to apply.
Here is what you should be able to do:
- Be well versed in the English Language and its Grammar
- Be able to edit content which is provided by other sections, often where the author uses English as a second language; this is currently the most crucial job in our section, so you should be able to perfect text, by correcting grammar and punctuation, as well as phraseology.
- Being a trained journalist or news reporter is not a requirement, but you should also enjoy writing texts
So, if you have an eye for detail, a solid ability to communicate in English, a love of COH2, and a desire to get more involved with the community, please send your applications to our Editor-in-Chief, FichtenMoped. Please include a small sample of your writing, whether it be a news report or an original story.
Apply as a Mapmaker or Modmaker
Do you create your own maps for Company of Heroes 2, or are you modifying the game to create a new experience? Are you are interested in sharing your knowledge? Then you might be interested in becoming a Modder or a Map Maker!
Your tasks:
The Modding section on COH2.org is relatively new, as a stand-alone section. The Modding and Map-making area of Company of Heroes 2 is really starting to emerge, now that custom skins and decals can be applied.
We need dedicated people, who must have a strong knowledge of WorldBuilder, who can help us grow the section on COH2.ORG, by creating informative tutorials. In addition, we need you to be active in the modding or mapping sections, by posting your own projects, as well as answering technical questions from community members. Your contributions will help make COH2.ORG the place to be, for Company of Heroes 2 mapping and modding.
To apply, send a PM to MonolithicBacon, who is our Master Map Maker, or Eliw00d, who is our Master Modder.
If you are accepted, you will join a staff team that is passionate about the Company of Heroes franchise and its community. You will gain access to the Staff forums and be an integral part of the place where the magic happens! COH2.ORG is looking forward to your application.
Thanks in advance!
