Thanks, great round up!

Mind updating this guide once the actual patch notes (thanks to Cruzz I hope) are available?

"This change is most likely there to make anti-infantry counters like Shock Troops, Riflemen and HMGs more effective at protecting allied armor from Volks blobs."
Please someone tell me how i am going to counter usf blobs and shock troops blobs? With the absence of obers' lmg? :):):)

Relic was Nazi fanboys long time ago due to their awful soviet campaign:)

The ISG got a buff vs blobs, and your mainline Volks will deal more damage at vet 5, But I do suspect we will se more doctrine infantry being used (since they are no longer outshines by Obers, and since the faster raketen will bring more AT to make up for the lower number of Volks)

Volks are not supposed to deal damage but hold the line, dealing damage should be the obers' job.
But now.....:)

Well it seems OKW is getting botched by "balance". This game gone full League of Legends something is popular = must nerf.

Thanks guys. Even though i checked the patch notes earlier today, I still like this. its pretty clear :D
I love how there was no comment on the HMG42 buff. just "2.5sx damage". That made me happy, as i love MG42s!

Still...USF gonna bleed MP hard without any sniper counter. Only if the Ost player screws up something the sniper will have +40 kills :P

Soviets will be the strongest faction from now definietly.

OKW won't stand a chance :(

About Angoville; I hope they fixed that retarded southern cut-off house....I'm not sure if it's a good map for COH 2.

This patch looks promising. I hoped, they will make the IS-2 stronger vs German heavy Armour or buff the Zis-3 which cant penetrate the big ones frontal armour. Instead, they nerfed OKW, which isnt a bad idea. I also like the nerfed B4 - a pesky pay to win gadget from my point of view.

First thing I will try are the new guards. I never understood their role, somebody called them heavy infantry but they suck ass vs obers which are nerfed now :). I think we will see guards a lot more often now. When will they adapt the changes ?

The patch is what it is.

I tried to provide the most accurate picture of the changes without worrying about the overall direction of the game.

To he completely honest I agree with basically everyone else in this thread. This is just a tiny step forward for balance. Some underwhelming units got buffed. Most of the overpowered stuff got nerfed a little. More is needed and the pace is annoying. You really have to hope that it's just the new-year break and the balance manager stepping down that have combined to make this patch slow. That you'll see swifter changes coming.

It's a good patch. I basically agree with all of the changes. At least I think all of the changes have reasons and deserve a chance in the wild. My opinion will shine in through the piece.

Can you confirm that the PTRS changes are listed correctly in the patch notes? If that is the case, then gaurds will be insanely strong :snfPeter:

I can only rely on my experience but I definitely noticed a marked increased in PTRS accuracy against infantry.

I would say "trust in the official patch notes! Relic has surely edited them thoroughly to make sure they're correct!"

... but even they make mistakes. Take a look at this Greyhound change:

• Penetration has increased from 35 / 45 / 55 to 40 / 45 / 60
• Distant scatter max has been increased from 35 / 45 / 55 to 40 / 45 / 60

The Distance Scatter change makes no sense at all. Scatter distances are usually values between 1-15. Not 1-60. A panther's cannon has a scatter distance of 8 for instance.

It really looks like they accidentally copied the penetration values over to another patch change. So nothing is certain.

That being said the PTRS change is probably legit.

now that ober's lmgs are upgradable, and OKW should choose between Anti-inf and Anti-tank and shrek is nerfed again it's time to change OKW muni income back to normal
FYI: right now OKW earns 80% of normal muni income
