COH2.ORG: Congratulations making it to the final four! Most people probably expected that you would make it this far, but there are quite a few high caliber players out there to not even make contender appearances. Which games did you find the most difficult - the contender series against TitiTwister, or the two times you knocked off Tommy in the qualification rounds?
Fir3ball: Hey! I agree that some of the high level players didn’t make it to contender bouts, but upsets are always fun to watch. Overall I have to say that I expected semi-finals with DevM, Aimstrong, Symbi and myself. The most difficult games I played so far in this season(and won) were versus Tommy.
COH2.ORG: I remember DevM saying that he played a lot of practice games against you this season. Should you both meet in the finals, are you concerned that he knows your recent play styles and new strats, or do you still have a few tricks up your sleeve?
Fir3ball: That’s true. We played a lot of practice games together and we kind of got used to each other's playstyle. However I'm not concerned about this at all because I always try to do something different.
COH2.ORG: So how have you been preparing for your series against fellow Allstars member Symbiosis? I know most of you aSII guys normally use eachother as sparring partners. Have you found someone else to play with, or are you confident in your ability to outplay him even with a predictable strategy?
Fir3ball: I asked Symbiosis to play few practice games with me but he didn't want to. I played some practice games with a couple of friends but mostly with Devm. Hmmm, predictable or not, I know he likes to play passive and long games and that’s all I need to know about his playstlye.
COH2.ORG: Moving on, what do you think of the new maps? Do you like them, or do you prefer sticking to the old 3?
Fir3ball: I started playing a lot on the new maps so I could prepare myself for SNF4 and I have to say I like the old three better. I think both new maps favour WM. Argentan because if you manage to lock down your half of the map it’s really hard to break through with the Americans. Hedges block a lot of space and a few well-placed mines can stop the flanks and bleed his manpower. It’s similar to Angoville in this aspect, road down the middle and hedges on either side. On Bois you can lock middle as WM easier than with Americans. Middle is such a strong position because you can respond fast to either side if you have to. I have better feeling playing with Americans on Argentan than on Bois.
COH2.ORG: Recently DevM and Aimstrong have been tailoring new strategies for their opponents. Do you prefer executing certain strats that you have practiced again and again, or do you plan to take a more reactive approach as the game progresses?
Fir3ball: I don’t like to make detailed plans for when I play, because they usually fail. I never have any specific strategies, just general build orders that I use and then adapt to the situations.
COH2.ORG Good luck to our defending SNF king! Anyone final words or shoutouts?
Fir3ball: Thanks, it means a lot! I would like to thank to DevM for being patient while kicking my ass in practice games and Symbi my man; I hope we will still be friends no matter the result, hehe. I also salute all the allstar members.
