Non doctrine 5 man Grenadier upgraded unlocked after teching tier 1: Ostheer can choose between LMG42 upgrade ( only 4 man ) or choose 5 man squad ( block LMG42 + G43 upgrade and only 1 weapon slot picked up? ) for each individual Grenadier squad
The cost to get 5 man would be 60 muni
Maybe throw a bonus of idk, free healing with the 5 man upgrade or faster capping speed ( Like the bonus from the Assault Grenadier? )
Let's face it why everyone prefer Assault Grenadier or ostruppen this day: They got more than 4 man at the start, losing 1 model doesn't mean losing 25% firepower at the start.

Maybe Howziter from Soviet, Ostheer and OKW can be move around the map with very slow speed? ( slow like Soviet AT camo slow speed ) Consider the Brit and US have moveable arty platform? stats aside, do people feel that sections are kinda over performing with the way they are now? In 2v2's they certainly feel feel that way, brits are the most frustrating faction for me to play against. in 1vs1 Brit gotta spear out to capture the map, in 2vs2 they straight up just moving 2,3 infantry sections together turning them into ~1 burst 1 model ( almost ), also it's very hard to kill retreating IS with bolt action rifle or even G43 / LMG42 compare to kill retreat Rifleman / Penal / Conscript / Guard / Ranger ? ( that's how I feel, me and my mate usually joke about bulletproof IS retreat ) Yes, Grenadier can do the same, same for Volks and Rifleman but right now if you compare mainlain infantry that move as a group of 3 then I fear: Infantry sections > Rifleman > Volksgrenadier > Grenadier > Conscript At least that's how I feel. P/S: I feel like in previous patch the Infantry Section is perfect: not too crazy outside out of cover but ain't no pushover if they are in cover. Hello, thanks for the reply, I can see some of your point. Umh, Panzerwerfer is not just " a bit hard to use ", it's actually not good because they have high scatter, required you to get close to your target as possible in order to reduced scatter or get to vet 2 when compare to katchusa and Stuka are way easier to use? And why are non-doctrine rocket unit like katjusha and stuka are required less effort compare to panzerwerfels? And the conclusion about off - meta? Because I play them myself: When enemy doesn't go anti-tank overwatch, doesn't go ISU and USF Airborne skilled plane, almost nothing can counter an elefant with half track 251 vet 3 + spotting scope on the field unless you get T34 Ram + IL2 bomb drop ( which 2 out of 3 commanders are ISU commander ) or a good rushing from Allies Without a threat to Elefant ( which usually are meta ), if I can draw out to late game then most Allies TD are scrap metal ( at leats in the top ~100 level games that I have play). And yes just like you said, it's also about the map design which some are harder to flank too. No, I'm not shitting on the balance, I'm not saying " uh hu this unit OP please nerf ", just saying that Panzerwerfel compare to Katjusha and Stuka are frankly harder to use because they have high scatter, meaning it's depend on RNG and the risk of moving it as close as possible to reduced scatter P/S: I agree with your about the ISU commander nerfing and Elefant commander without spotting scope, they need fixing both of that. While that is true, the problem is that this strategy is single handedly countered by a Katjuscha or Calliope, incindiary offmap, clusterbomb,deleting the majority off your army that has to be on one spot to be efficient. This guy gets it! A single good rocket unit just like Katjuscha or Calliope will deal heavy damage or manpower drain against Ostheer units which already low model, not to mention top 100 2vs2 players know where to aim their rocket too. Btw, Does anyone feel like Panzerwerfer is a joke? The scatter are too high and it required you to Vet 2 in order to lower the scatter, unit like Katchusa can stay out in max range and fire 3 times into a single target, Panzerwerfer just like scatter everywhere. I don't even bother making them no more, I just ask my 2vs2 OKW teammate to make Stuka.

I wish I can play Allies, my other teammate is anal axis only and doesn't wanna try Allies + I don't play with random teammate. And I'm not sure because I did fight against top 10 => top 100, mostly Allies I just meet combo like I said ( explains why I'm going Ostwind to counter USF Airborne skill plane ). P/S: Like I said, 5 man Gren with penalty of 5x kar98k only doesn't increase in firepower, only in survival - crew weapon pickup only and Soviet can do the same with their M5 Halftrack if they want to
Haha yeah no thank you , totally understand your point but right now I rather stick with my Elefant + OKW combo in 2vs2 , it's boring play but it's working! I mean right now the patch I feel is almost perfect beside my personal ranting of 5 man grenadier non doctrine squad + The infantry sections feeling OP atm.
Yeah I don't mind tone down the MG42, it's the best MG in the game I think, and the point about non doc conscript DP28 is cool but I think 1 is enough, T34-85 might be a bit much consider SU already got SU85 which is already the best TD Allies ever have ( based on the increase sight range ability ) About the OST build on support weapons idk man, right now the Allies got better support weapons compare to Ostheer ( USF Pack Howziter, SU AT Gun that can shoot barrage, SU Mortar which can fire flare ), idk I feel like the only good support Ostheer have is the MG42. So true: Axis go Elefant + Tiger / King Tiger, Allies going ISU + 1 kind of heavy tanks ( Churchill flame, KV2, IS2 ) OR using Anti-tank Overwatch OR USF Airborne doctrine. We find it to be the only viable play in 2vs2 atm: Yeah it's boring but it can do anything from anti-arty, anti-ISU and Allies TD. Tell me, without elefant how do I expect to counter SU85 with increase sight ability, Jackson with AP round, Coment and Churchill flame? Panther is a joke, Stug can't win against Allies TD. I'm a main Ostheer 2vs2 players that have numerous fighting against top 10 like Icauna / Ikab and I have the same opinion like you guys. -------------------------------------- +) I feel like my Grenadier is weaker compare to other mainline because they only have 4 mans: Losing 1 model meaning lost 25% firepower, losing 3 models meaning I have to retreat if I got no reinforced halftrack near me. => This can be easily fixed by letting Grenadier having an option of upgrade to 5 man squad non doctrine that also DISABLED the ability to upgrade with LMG42 and DISABLED ALL weapon slots => By having 5 man Grenadier squad, I can now have a frontline infantry that take the damage while other 4 man Grenadier with LMG42 can stay behind and shoot => Having 5 man Grenadier let me pick up dropped crew weapons ( MG, AT, Mortar, Pack howziter ). Right now with my 4 grenadier? Losing 1 model? Good luck with that. -------------------------------------- " But Kyle, there is already a doctrine with 5 man grenadier! You can even get a free G43 and free healing from it too " - Yes, but we are talking about 2vs2 where almost every game will turn be swarm with M36 Jackson / Firefly / SU85 / Comet and heavy tanks such as IS2 - KV2 - ISU ( mostly ISU with it HE round wiping Axis infantry ). Make it 5 man grenadier with pure 5x kar98k rifle. What I need from this squad is the ability to live longer, steal crew weapons, not looking for pure firepower from them -------------------------------------- With more than 1200 games in 2vs2, 5x 2vs2 replays against top tier players casting by tightrope, my conclusion that all I ever want from this Ostheer faction is to have 5 man grenadier squad NON - doctrine so I can use them as meat shield, I can use them to steal weapon easier.
