I'm a big fan of teamgames and USF faction but I find no pleasure in it and here is list of the most annoying things in my opinion.
1. Rear Echelon.
No use of them. Once they had nice supression ability which was response for Kubel's superssion. Now this ability is useless. Wonder why OKW can superess many units on wide area with Kubel while USF can't supress even 1 unit for 20ammo (OK, they can supress but it's just teory).
2. Stuart.
This unit needs a buff, not a nerf with every single patch! It cost 80+70 fuel!!!! (Jadgpanzer needs 170 Puma 110 and Stuka 140.... PS Don't tell me how OKW have lower fuel income cause ability to exchange ammo for fuel os awesome and in teamgames you dont even ferl that lower income) and enter fight when there is enough AT power to make it useless (same thing with T70). It should reward player for delaying Sherman with nice push-power but it's a waste of resources.
3. Anti-blob unit.
Ost have Brummbar, PzWerfer and even let's say Flame Truck.
Soviets have Katyusha.
OKW have Stuka and Stumtiger.
USF have.... M8? Yea...
To push back blob you need really heavy fire which hits at once on wide area. Every faction has something like that but not USF.
If you see that blob is coming you can try M8, Pack Howizter (they are great, really, but they won't scare ultimate blob army)
4. M10 Wolverine.
Ok, this unit is almost complety useless, needs a lot of micro which does not pay off
5. M36 Jackson.
The biggest USF gun but still not enough for Tiger, KT, Elephant or JT. Nice damage but to low penetration. ZiS3, IS2, ISU152, SU85. All those units have better penetration especially on far target. Few times I had opportunity to chase down Tiger due to none support of PaK or Schrecks. I stand against one-hit-kill Tiger. First shot bounced. I got hitted. Second shot bounced, third shot bounced and my Jackson was dead. I know it's not suposed to fight like that but 100% AT unit and the only one AT unit should have better penetration Ok, maybe it's fast enough to flank something. 6,5 speed for 28t unit vs 6,6 speed for 45t unit (Panther). Add bliztkrieg and no need to say more.
It has nice range but not enough to stay away from PaKs. Give it better armor. It has even 110mm fronatl armor. Not the whole front but the most fragile places.
There are the biggest issues if you ask me.
What USF need? Few thing.
1. Artillery. Not Priest which shoots shell by shell but something which fires with full power at once.
2. Medium/Heavy Tank. M26 Pershing is a unit which can fill the gap. Not yet heavy tank but one of the heaviest in medium class. Versus KT, JT or Elephnat you just need some damage-sponge.
3. New elite infantry unit. Ost have Grens, PzGrens, Ostruppen, Assault Grens. SOviets have Cons, Guards, Shocks, Penals and Maxim spam (). OKW have Volks, Strumpio, Obers, Falchs and Panzerfusiliere.
USF have Rifle, Paratroopers and now Assault Engi but I feel that they need some call-in flexible infatry, but that is just mine feeling.
4. Give USF some units that provide fun!! God, using Stuka, Sturmtiger is great! "Come on little filthy blob, come on to dady... BOOM!" Who does not smile when hit a blob with that?
ISU? "I got you 5 vetted Volks, no say goobye to this nice squad you Axis scum! BOOM! Vanished"
KV8? "I will cook you for dinner!!". PzWerfer? "Hmmm nice mortar spam. Wonder what will happens if I aim there with my rockets? Hmmmm..." Jadgtiger, Elephant? "Awww, I see your new, shiny varnish on frontal armor, let me make it dirty. You won't even see me, I swear!"
B4? "Where are you tiny JT? I have a nice gift for you, one little shell... Fire! waiting... waiting (please, do not move!! Please!!!).... Gotcha!!"
USF? I have my M8 and I will make you cry with my 6 bulletns at once! Oh, wait.... No fun at all
You may disagree with me, that's your right and I'm open to criticism.
Ps
Paratroopers since they can be call in at enemy's teritory, they should be able to engage since landing but you nie to wait 1 minute I guess for upgrade. They should already have lmg or Thompson. Obers, for 400mp already have lmg.
USF are unplayable in big teamgames

Tell me, how to kill Axis' heavies with Jackson? Because because from what you say it looks like it's very easy. And yes, it is when you face noob guy who thinks like "Whoaaaa, I have a Tiger! I will druve into your army and crush them! Yeaaa!! Tiger!!" But if you face guy who know how-to-play it's almost impossible. There are always Volks or PzGrens with schrecks nearby but what's most important, there are AT Guns. Wounded Tiger, KT, Pather (what ever) will just drive back and get repairs, and then do it again. You don't have any damage sponge to drive into range of this AT gun, take hit, finish almost-killed KT, take another hit and reverse. I have countless games where KT was almost dead but it retreated behind PaK and after 1min it showed again with full health. No way to finish it without something heavy. In: COH2 Gameplay |

If Axis have Ostwind and Sturmtiger, such rare units, USF also could have not M26 Pershing but T26 Super Pershing... But it won't happens. Even if we consider M26 Pershing, it's difficult to call it heavy tank. 42t vs 45t Panther, 46t IS2, 57t Tiger. Pershing was heavy tank during War but just after it was renamed for medium tank - no wonder why when you look at weight. I guess it was heavy because it was the heaviest USF tank (but not heavy in the true sense). Tank with power somewhere between Panther and Tiger won't make balance broken but it will pull many player to Allies In: COH2 Gameplay |

I would say that now even earlygame is painful due to Kubel+Strompio so... None counter for it (as USF). Only spam 3-4 Rifle at once or wiat for Captain. With Kubel, Strumpio and Volks I'm able to repel even 4 squads with very low loss, even that I'm not good OKW player. Giving USF a heavy tank in a doctrine would be a stupid fix, everyone would choose that doctrine and you end up the same as soviets. dont really know what to do with it It would not be stupid if present doctrines would be useful. Airborne, Rifleman and maybe Infatry (cause of free M1919) are useful but the rest? Meh. I have 14 sov commander and 18 ost while OKW and USF have only 6. That means there will be more in future. Giving USF Pershing as call-in is not a problem. If you give it in 2-4 doctrines (like Tiger) it would spread selection between those 2-4. Then guys in Relic responsible for this should solve one question. USF players are using doctrines with Pershing. So, what should be do to prevent that? How to encourage them to use others? It should be in the same way why Ost players are choosing other doctrines than Tiger's. Gibing us such stupid commander like Recon won't help. Everything can be done with little effort, even making non-pershing commander more attractive than the persing ones. I'm not enjoying 20+ streak without any problems as Axis. I'm also not enjoying games as Allies where I must ascend to the heights of my skills just to have a chance to win. In: COH2 Gameplay |

I'm allies player and I love big teamgames. Guards+Mark Targer+ISU was the only option versus KT or JT. Now that's gone. I enjoy to use USF aswell despite it's pain in the ass to use Jackson vs Axis Heavies. Streak +5 was really hard to get. On the other had, I bought OKW week ago, just started to use them and guess what, streak +21 without any problems... Just check ladder for streak. Axis are arous 15-30. Allies 1-10. Maybe what Im going to say is quastionable but if game would be properly balanced for 1v1 and 2v2, 4v4 would also be, because often it's not 4v4 but 4x 1v1 or 2x 2v2. But Axis have to many late-game OP units. Someone sad that CoH is designed as rock paper scissors. It's good but at some point there is no scissors for Axis' "paper" like KT, JT, Tiger Ace, Elephant. Give USF Pershing, redesing Soviets and maybe amout of Allies player will grow. In: COH2 Gameplay |

Thunderbolt before was broken. 200 ammo, most rockets missed the target which causes 5% dmg to KT for 200ammo or the plane was shooted down. This ability could make a great impact but it was once every ten times. Now is ok. In: COH2 Balance |

I was a big fan of Guards. Not bad AI power combined with punishing button if enemy stop thinking and drive into your units -> button +ZiS/SU85. Now if enemy drives too close, he can just retreat with loss hp only. In my opinion, nerfing Guards will also affects SU-85. The only AT stock unit. High range, very slow, easy to flank. Guards were true "guards" of SU. If Puma, Pz IV or any other unit wanted to flank it, there were always Guards to prevent that and punish for that with SU's gun. Now even buttoned vehicles encircling SU will be fast enough to avoid hit. R.I.P. Guards + ISU doctrine. In: COH2 Balance |

Pack Howitzer is simply awesome. Anti-blob unit. In teamgames I could sometimes reach 60kills with one. In 2v2 it's also very useful. For me "must-have" unit as USF, especially if enemy is waiting for King Tiger and use only infatry. In: COH2 Gameplay |

When comapre to the others faction, Soviets have no stock: AI Infantry (Penals, Cons and Snipers vs Sniper, Gren, PzGrens, Rifleman, Lieutenant, Obersoldaten) AI Tank (T70 vs Brummbar, Sherman HE, Sturmtiger, Luchs) AT Infatry (Let's say Cons are AT inf due to AT nades... vs Bazooka, PzGrens/Volks+Schreck) AT Tank (SU85 vs Jackson, Panther, King Tiger, Sturmiger - again - Jadgpanzer) When look at stock units, Soviets are the worst faction. None of those (except Snipers) can stand against others factions units. Even if we include call in inf, Schocks and Guards, they are a way worst than OKW, USF and even Ost basic units. Only IS2, KV-2 or ISU152 are comparable. No wonder why we see Maxim or Sniper spam. Spam spam spam unitl call ins cause stock units suck. Soviets need to be redesigned. Too many units are useless or too expensive when compare to call in. In: COH2 Balance |
