If you right-clicked an enemy tank the target is switched only if the enemy unit goes out of sight, not randomly, the alternative would be not shooting at all
I guess not. I was chasing Puma, Puma was in range, then my AA truck has switched target to raketen and I immediately commanded to shoot again at Puma. Looked like gun was damn confused becasue is started rotate to face raketen but during this I commanded to shoot at Puma again.
That person was probably already winning pretty hard, or was using Spec Ops to call in a command Panther.
The loss of the Schwer is pretty devastating since when you lose it you need to push up and lock down an area long enough for it to set up, which is MUCH harder late game due to the increased amount of infantry and tanks on the field.
No he did not have advantage. It was really high level game. OKW player was loosing. Losts 2 Schweres and was able to make THIRD one.
it won't switch to pak40, that's the point.
AA HT is mainly AI so yes it will give higher priority to infantry, Tank Destroyers will obviously give priority to tanks.
And this is my point.
There should be something over priority. If I command to attack that unit it should attack no matter what.
Switching from almost dead target to full health target has no logic.
I just wonder how you can defend this buliding which was designed to cover point from which OKW get 200% income, while this feature no longer exists. It was designed for something which we don't have in game anymore.
It's like, let give USF Pershing so they can deal with King Tiger. King Tiger is removed from the game but Pershing is still here. It would be quite similar.
It's pure assholness in 1v1. 1v1 is about capping, but you can't cap because of this unit building.
Soviets have plenty options but USF? You can't do anything until Sherman, and even then it will be pretty hard.
I still can't get over the fact people don't understand that with out it you can't make Panthers or Obers, which is what 99% of the people who bitch about OKW cry about.
It's an important building which is why it has defenses. If you adjust the fuel cost for the OKW fuel penalty it's 104 fuel, which is only 16 less than the soviet t3-t4 buildings.
Can't? I saw plenty 1v1 where OKW has lost T4, yes still was able to make second and Panther without big problems.

Similar tactic like using another unit as meat shield covering wounded unit back to safety.

Im chasing unit, raketen jumps out around the corner and shoot my AA truck. It's fine. Nothing wrong. But my AA truck, which is chasing Puma and which I ordered to shoot at Puma, switches target to Raketen.

Imagine, you are chasing almost dead Panther with Jackson. You just shooted and it need 1 more shot. Suddenly, pak40 shows up and your Jackson switches target to pak40 instead of shooting Panther. This is stupid and broken.
So, I injured my right hand . No big deal, but I won't be able to play for the next couple of weeks or so (don't know exactly). Question: may I postpone my fixture 2 games (even fixture 3 games, if needed)?
I said i rather have hold fire on my AT guns than prioritize tanks.
It's not like we can't have both... I mean, we had hold fire but then Relic has changed it to vehicle priority... Why change it if there is enough space for both?
friendly reminder that anti tank guns can shoot through hedges using attack ground.
just my 2 cents, BUT flak HQ is definitely NOT the reason why OKW is strong right now. killing the flak hq isnt actually that difficult. basically what you do is set up indirect fire + 1 at gun + suppression platforms in addition to all your infantry just outside of the flak hq range, and you just barrage it/at gun it to death. obviously the OKW player(s) will try to counter attack your position, and thats where suppression platforms come into play. you just suppress okw squads, force the retreat and continue killing the hq.
with sight its really easy to actually kill the hq with at guns, but usually the only way to get sight is pathfinders or some sort of off map recon.
with soviets basically you want 1 or 2 120mm or 82mm either one works fine, atleast one at gun, and one or two maxims + all your cons just sitting bheind green cover. this is like a really hard position for the axis to push on.
with USF you want to have at gun/jackson + 50cal or fighting positions + ur rifles just sitting in green. usf have to kind of rely more on direct fire so i find pathfinders are the best to providing sight.
Problem is, USF can't get AT Gun and HMG (not to mention 480 MP indirect fire...)
Best way to deal with it is to drop smoke barrage and use demo from Paras but that's damn expesinve when compare to soviets.
T70 recon mode + ZiS, SU85, 120, 82, smoke + demo... Many many ways but for USF it's huge pain.
