Thread: The B4 and Commander roulette20 Mar 2015, 17:25 PM Its quite simple. Wait to see which tactic enemy has chose. If you pick up doctrine in the first 4mins, well... Soviets usually need to pick up doctrine earlier than Axis so just Wait. Many times its enough just to have doctrine with Stuka in load out. Its enough scary for Soviets to not to go for B4. And there are many doctrines to counter it. CAS and festung armor are obvious ones but there is also Luftwaffe, and ostruppen or the one with Pak 43 and railway-artillery. Its harder than Stuka cause you need vision and you dont have recon but your teammate can provide it. Just use railway-artillery on B4 then since first shell will Land in the middle its 100% to kill b4. In: COH2 Gameplay

In general the allies are better at short range engagements then the axis who favour long range battles. because of that the assault engineers are more viable then sp's. And he is right you know. counter his arguments or piss of. I could post screens or videos of SP killing AE at any range but it would be waste of time since last time I did that you said that your experience is saying something different and it does not prove anything. So I will leave you alone with your experience and your world where AE squad is winning against SP squad at close range and where Flak cannot damage Sherman. In: COH2 Balance

Remember they had their range nerfed where before they performed similar to panzergrenadiers but people complained about them. They used to be able to deal their max damage with range-8 or less, but they were nerfed down to range-3 while all Allied SMG squads had their damage dealing range buffed up to range-10! It's in the patch notes, I cannot make this stuff up. Essentially Allied SMG squads will be dealing their max damage at 7 different range levels sooner than the Sturmpioneer will be able to. Remember when Soviets complained that the Shocktroopers couldn't deal any damage outside of hugging range? That's what it's like to use Sturmpioneers now. It's why I went back to Ostheer and have been enjoying CAS doctrine. At least Panzergrens and Grenadiers are reliable enough to get the job done and having 2x 4% increased rate of fire bulletins for the MG-42 actually make it a suppressing powerhouse. Please, do me a favour and plug out keyboard. I already proved that SP will win agasint AE at any range. In: COH2 Balance

Survivability is one thing and applies to all engagements, the question here was who is the most potent AT infantry squad? Related to Luchs I think different. Don't get me wrong, I believe Luchs is a verry potent light tank and perform its role just as good as T70 is doing it, but in a direct confrontation who will win most of the times? So since their performances as light tanks are quite similar, the only thing that make the difference is how they are performing one against the other. T70 being superior at this chapter, wins. Of course PzGrens can deal higher damage but on the other hand Volks have insane veterancy which means that in late game, they can easily get into middle of the battle, cause they are immue to small fire,, fire volley and reatreat. PzGrens will die to easily in such situation so in fact it's hard to say which unit is better. T70 will win 1v1 with Luch, has great Recon mode but it's nowhere near to Luchs in terms of killing infantry. Luchs can melt infantry better than any other vehicle in game. I wonder why OST and OKW have best units in game. I mean, I would sacrafice best MG (Maxim) for best AI infantry. In terms of design it should be balanced somehow but it's not #ProAxisDesign I did not know Axis won the War It was quite good until OKW. In: COH2 Balance

Think about it for a second, you are going through much MUCH more effort to use a pwerf than a stuka. 1. First have to clear the area of enemies 2. Set of defensive line 3. Position the HT 4. stop the enemy some way or keep him still in some way 5. fire 6. hope he doesn't move The cone of effect on the barrage at close range allows it to hit, but only in that area. If you use it farther away you won't hit anything, if you use it close you need to pin the enemy down because your area of effect won't be big enough to catch him if he moves a little bit. You dont need any defensive line. It should be quick attack and retreat which is not hard cause many players are blobbing even when taking point. So while doing it, attack and reverse. I belive that if katy was at T3 we would see OP threads from blobbers. Katy is much easier to use, have better utility, can be used at range and its obvious that its better but at close range werfer will punish blobber a way better than katy. And the blob can be on move. Its up to you to decide when blob will move and shoot there. In: COH2 Balance

The Katyusha can easily wipe squads just like the Stuka, both have good AoE on the rockets and you can reasonably target were those rockets can go at mid range. But the werfer doesn't have any less scatter at close than the Katyusha, by the way. I agree, honestly the Werf needs an improvement or needs to be moved to T3 like it originally wise. Stop acting like you were stupid. Of course you can shoot but it requires action. Jackson wont do it itself. With katy you can react between volleys so its not wiping like werfer. You can retreat or try soft retreat. With werfer you dont have time to react. Full wipe or miss cause blob moved. Recently Im seeing many blobber who are taking points with whole blob. Pure paradise for katy. Just this damn T4.. In: COH2 Balance

Not every map has shot blockers, and the Kat and Pwerf have horrible acceleration and pathing leading to both being very difficult to keep alive in very close quarters. Not to mention the rockets don't hit instantly either, and to hit something you need to get right up close and reduce the scatter on it, meaning you won't be able to hit the entire blob. It's a catch 22 situation, why does a rocket artillery HT need to be right in in front of an enemy to hit it? It's rocket artillery, it should be a medium range unit, not a literal ass sniffing range unit. I did not say its the Best but most potent. You dont need shot blocker - smoke. Katy or Stuka wont provide such wiping power, but can be used at distance. On the minimum range werfer is the Best one but its really hard to get so close. Just right now we had inside clan game. I made werfer. 3 squads of Rifles just vanished but its really rare to use it on that range. Yet the biggest problem is T4 which is completly useless cause of tech prices. In: COH2 Balance

Get close behind shot blocker or smoke area ahead, shot at blob, blob will vanish. There is no time to react. Bye Bye blob, but its really hard to achieve this. In: COH2 Balance
