actually curious if anyone knows the answer
There is an anti cheat program for coh2 or as I suspect there is not any protection vs cheating?
If not how can they even think of actual multiplayer support |
Map hack is the prevalent hack and there is no way to detect it.
You have and you will play vs maphackers. The good ones never tip their hands, they just look like they are great at the game. (Raz proved that for well over a year until he got lazy one day and it was only because of his OWN mistake they caught him)
you cant stop it and RELIC hasn't ever really cared about stopping hacking. So it's here to stay. Maphackers are a part of COH, have been and always will be.
Sad but true, as a matter of fact I would bet all my money there are several map hackers in the top of the ranks
|
people can say what they want but ost is the worst faction to play. The data proves it also.
Easiest way to settle it is for RELIC to release all the win loss data. Not just the top 100 (really how many games is that)
but almost everyone can agree that when they play allies vs ost in 1v1 they are much happier than if OKW showed up.
So RELIC release the complete win loss story on 1v1 and lets see where ost falls or how far in last is it |
AEC makes OST unplayable in 1v1. wait for next esl -aec ftw |
the AEC does make the OST not viable in 1v1. There is no counter to it at the time it comes out.
Relic fked this up |
Thanks for the ESL for being responsive to everything. I don't think people realize how important a multi-player online model is to future of the game.
Anything that supports that needs to be encouraged. We all dodged a bullet with one bankruptcy.
SO keep the ESL support going - flawed or not it is the first step to making sure we have a game to play in 2017 |
Red wings is spot on.
The NA tourney can't go for 12 hours. It starts at 4 pm est and went well past midnight. I played my fourth match at 11 pm and I think that was round 3?
The format needs to be adjusted or the start time for the NA needs to be pushed back. I would suggest starting the tourney on saturday for the opening rounds and have Sunday be the quarters on.
otherwise the finals and quaters will be all no shows. You can't expect anyone with a job to play past 10 pm sunday night est?
Other than that it was great! |
I'll provide some perspective for the NA side.
All in all, this tournament took about 11 - 12 hours. I had 4 games, 2 no shows, and a final game I threw because it was 3 AM in the morning and didn't really care at that point. I spent about 4-5 hours playing and 6-7 hours waiting. (the no shows should account for half of this)
Unlike the EU tournament, round 4 and up were best of 3s. Not only did it make the wait times extremely long, it just wore on all the players, most of who were either playing well into the night or even through the night. Combined with the double elim, most NA players dropped at the end, like paul and vindicare did.
I really, really, REALLY hope they don't repeat this style of tournament because frankly, it is a little insane to ask players to dedicate half a day on a sunday night. If they do, I can't see myself playing another tournament. |
ESL is the only hope that COH will continue as a franchise. Rules maps whatever, if it doesn't have a vibrant multi player it does not have a future. Luck of surviving one bankruptcy won't happen again.
Everyone should promote and support any multiplayer esl, the new vet fight, SNF etc and quit the nit picking.
Sign up and support every tourney if you want to be playing this game at the end of 2016 |
Anyword on the leaderboard fixes or esports? Are they going to support multiplayer? balance is to make sure that people buy new commanders and they do a good job of fixing it after each round of $$ making commander releases.
However,
COH2 playerbase isn't growing - it is fairly stagnant and given that RTS is shrinking where are the changes to grow the playerbase?
e-sports what happened? how about Relic sponsored tourneys (without coh2 there wouldn't even be these small tourneys)
leaderboard wipe to maybe get existing players back into multiplayer?
1 year from now will COH2 still be relevant without improvements to multiplayer?
IMO
Balance patches are fine, but the game isn't really growing from them; serious support and promotion to increase multiplayer is needed for longterm survival or we will be have a legends never die for coh2 |
