While also having more penetration for ~reasons~ now. The extra 40 damage is only relevant vs medium armor if there are other sources of AT on the field to help round down the number of shots needed to kill a P4. The extra 40 damage is a lot more important vs heavy tanks because it allows the Jackson to KO a heavy in the same number of penetrations as before. You could say the Jackson traded the raw DPS of a SU-85 for better penetration vs heavies. It remains to be seen if the Jackson performs too well against heavies. In: Lobby

My point is that the Jackson requires the same number of penetrations as an SU-85 to kill a medium tank now while having almost half the RoF of an SU-85. This means the Jackson is going to be a less of a hard counter to Ost T3 and medium tanks in general. In: Lobby

In reducing the damage by 40 it will take 4 penetrating shots to kill a P4 instead of 3. This is the same number of penetrating shots it takes for a T34 to kill a P4. In: Lobby

That's why people use the RoF bulletins for MG42s if they want it to suppress faster. Oh, my mistake then. Guess I got the two confused.
