The biggest loser here is USF as they rely so much on light and medium vehicle play to remain even remotely relevant at competitive levels.
Play a few games as ostheer and see how difficult the ostheer's early game is vs the USF and their light vehicle play. Without even mentioning the riflemen who out-DPS your grens before the LMG upgrade. And a rifle squad with M1919s is still a good match vs grens. |
Its not that hard to understand.
1 - Make commander OP as ****
2 - Sell a puddingload of that commander
3 - Profit
Not important: May cause imbalanced gameplay

Do I have to sign up for this or subscribe to the newsletter to be eligible? Or is it automatic like before? |

Dawn of War II? Why? Not enough people play it anymore for it to matter.
Well that only helps us |
Given your whole idea (its dmg, range, delay) this ability would only be dangerous vs emplacements. In 30 sec (even 15) a good player can move all their troops. And paying 400 ammo for a couple of emplacements is... not that good trade.
Stall for 400 munis -> win every game with annihilation victory after 12 CPs by firing it into the mainbase
On a more serious note: nah, it could use some changes but realistically you can never float 400 munitions unless you have your opponent already pinned in his base. |
I wouldn't say okw is op, more that they have a major cheese mechanic that can be very frustrating to play against and kinda lame/boring to play with. I am referring to the 4-5 pshreck volks squads running all over the map. I assume it's less of a problem in 1v1 but that doesn't mean it isn't one. 3v3 and 4v4 it's an absolute cancer. Makes the game feel like an old school cheesy RTS where basic infantry could kill tanks by shooting MOAR bullets.
With this I totally agree with, the bigger the game gets the bigger the blobbing problem is. But it's sometimes out of hand even in 2v2s. |
Where did you get that number from? OKW's winrate this week in 1v1 is 64,7%. So far this game has been balanced with mainly 1v1 in mind. But still, OKW's winrate in every game mode is over 60 % except for 2v2s - but even there it's more than 50%. |
I think it's a good thing. At least for wehrmacht, which can't fight riflemen or infantry sections with grenadiers at all during the early game. The quick MG is a must. |
No, just no. Mirror matches in a ww2 game isn't cool. |
I personally don't agree with the whole Competitive ESL set up that's happening, a little cash thrown in the air, some top players still spending time on it, but I feel like,
1. This is long overdue, and delayed mostly because of Relic's inability to properly establish a competitive through unbalanced maps and constantly adding in new content without first fixing what already existed.
2. They REALLY need to fix what they already have, and increase the viability of most of the commanders.
3. They need to be more informative on patches, such as what's going to be changed, when, and how people can contribute to make sure it balances an issue without bringing up another.
I do feel like Relic has slightly blind sighted on ESL, and promoting that over fixing the game and establishing ties with the community.

Except I think the competitive aspect finally growing can never be a bad thing! |
