I've only played this map a couple of times, so I can't comment much on balance, but aesthetically it is not great to look at. It seems flat and colorless and without texture. Not enough obstacles to make fighting interesting and no major terrain features (hills, ridges, etc.) to spice up the landscape. I think it could pretty easily be improved upon in these areas.
Balance wise, looking at the tactical map and watching many replays/streams I think Symbiosis has the right idea.
Overall a really good foundation for a map, just needs some tweaking and TLC |
Hey Stephenn. Having testers is really important to achieve good balance. I will most likely take you up on your offer. I like your stream by the way |
Ami, it can go under Parlor Room > COH2 Mapping or something. |
Unit abilities CAN totally change the direction of game. US nades anyone? The ability to dislodge an MG on command or a static inf squad is amazing. Also as you gain vet (specifically vet 3) the nades get pretty powerful. I've had vet 3 nade take down two whole vet 3 gren squads (conveniently mushed together of course). |
Thank you! I have found my new love of the US faction recently and have been building new skills while waiting for COH2. I've been wanting to make maps, but don't want to make any because COH2 is so damn close. I know much of balance currently and will be playing a of COH2 to learn all the strats and mechanics so I can make sweet maps. And I don't care too much for symmetry....
....Maybe a little symmetry... |
I plan on rolling out many maps for coh2 when it arrives. I'm trained as an architect and have good design concepts. I'll be looking to take part in the coh2 community in at least this way. I have been playing a lot of coh these days and am looking forward to joining the coh community in a constructive way. |
