This issue is more hard with german's because the bad armor, the soviet guys have a big armor on all infantry... If one soviet play click retreat they should be fine, if a german player do that, is not garanted...
One time i rush into woods (spotted enemy position) with 5 ASS GRENS (full squad) in the front (2m) of a 2 soviet sniper's (2 guys full health) and they run to base, but with a little slow action to retreat by my enemy, and 1 sniper with half of life get sucess to run AGAIN to base...
Man, is my infantry DRUNK or is the GOD ARMOR??? lol
With soviet's, is always retreat and sucess.
But with german i lost the count of the times that i lost panzers grens on the retreat...
2broken.
Bravus, you need to take a look into some of the weapon tables.
The reason that a sniper could escape your assault grenadiers is not because soviets have good armor on their units. It's because the assault grenadiers weapons are sub-machine guns which have a very short effective range. Retreating from sub-machine gun wielding infantry will always result in a high chance of escape. |
It's kinda dumb that the KV8 flamethrower does better damage than a regular ROK flamethrower, unless I'm mistaken.
Maybe it's because the KV-8 is not armed with a ROK flamethrower. |

wow ... just wow.. you people seem to have no problem with veteren units being killed on retreat so easily.
its no use.. i request some admin to please lock and delete this thread.
That's right, we don't. With the exception of soviet mines and the ISU152, losing infantry squads (vet or no vet, it does not matter) is because of failure by the user. |
I just played 2 games against double engie -> maxim spam -> guards -> T-70 rush -> call-in tanks.
I lost both games extremely hard, and then when I asked how he would counter it he said snipers. So the next game, to ease my frustration, I went soviets and did the maxim spam thing. Sure enough my opponent got double snipers in effort to try and counter it. I won before I even got my T3 up.
I really don't see how to counter this build with a regular opening (3x grens or 2x grens 1x mg42). Snipers arrive too late considering you also need 2x pios with sweepers before you can move your forces around safely, scout cars get shewed of by guards and I tried going for mech assault groups but they didn't have more than 2 minutes of playtime before a T-70 pushed them of the field.
Hmmm whatever can be done... |
Thread: ISU-15214 May 2014, 18:40 PM
The funny thing is, no one ever asked about ISU AT buffs.
People always wanted it to be more durable for the price and that was a rightful buff.
Indeed. I've myself always wondered why the ISU-152 had thin armor despite being build on the IS-2 chassis. I mean I get the idea that a long range unit should be vulnerable when attacked from close range, but this was not the case with the elephant so I didn't know why it should for the ISU-152.
The unit was under performing before the patch, but I would have been content with a armor buff and a slight AI buff (because all tanks recieved AI buffs). |
There is also a chance they spawn with an LMG42, which makes them quite decent.
I would love it if they added in more random weapons to these units, like a chance to get a panzerschrek or a pair of G43s or some MP44s. |
Not sure about the exact stats of yellow and green cover, but the last notes on houses were these:
"Small arms damage modifier vs. garrison cover from 0.65 to 0.55
Small arms accuracy modifier vs. garrison cover from 0.65 to 0.55"

Most people think the bigger Arc from the MG42 is a really big advantage. I don't think so. It IS an advantage, but only a small one.
Especially with the time the MG needs to aim from the mid to the side. You could argue its faster to have your Maxim not setup, and set it up when an enemy unit comes into sight, than to wait for the MG42 to aim from the mid to the edge of its arc.
Also the wide of the arc doesnt affect how many squads you can surpress with the same burst, because... that has totally nothing to do with each other?
You can't have a maxim in not-set-up mode. The maxim (and DHSK) always automatically set up once they stop moving. This makes the bigger arc of the MG42 more than just a small advantage in a variety of situations. |
I went back and looked at the patch notes and your right, there was no scatter nerf. This puzzles me because the nebel (and to a lesser extent) used to be killing machines, now they don't seem to do much of anything.
Probably some bad cases of RNG.
Explosive weapons profiles has been changed but I doubt this has made rocket artillery weaker. Just about every explosive weapon got more potent against infantry so I don't think rockets have received nerfs. |
