It´s not the guards that are the problem, it´s OKWs design. A lack of a non-doctrinal HMG and the fact that most high DPS anti-infantry units are light vehicles really make OKW hard to play against Guards and rifles with zooks.
I'm specifically referring to the kubel replay you no doubt remember. That was a bit over the top no?
It probably was, but at that point I was so fed up that I stopped playing for like a week. I have had outbursts like that(though none as bad as the one against brad, I was especially cross with him because he was actually responsible for the bad balance) a few times now but they don't come out of the blue. When you face the same broken stuff over, and over, and over again, frustration builds. I don't BM every (pre patch) rifle flamer spammer, Mech assault abuser or guard motor spammer I face. But when I face them 15 times in a row, one unlucky sod is probably going to receive my bottled up frustration. One time it was brad, one time it was you. I have a strong passion for this game and strong opinions of how it should be balanced. I won't excuse myself for that.
So you don't think you were at least a bit hypocritical?
I play non-meta 95% of the time and I face meta 95% of the time.
Even I, who is so vocal about balance and non-meta play, sometimes get tired of getting crushed by abusive strategies and then I have to vent a bit. Can I have at least that without being brandished as a hypocrite?
Aerohank, someone who is reknowned for being an extremely poor sport and BMer in 1v1s
Forgive me for not saying GG WP every time I face the same boring meta play or abuse of imbalanced features.
And yeah, I do complain a lot, but they are all directed to creating a game where commanders don't dictate whether you have a huge advantage over stock play and where cheap game mechanics such as insta wipe demo charges don't ruin games. Most of the things I have moaned about have either already been changed or are on the agenda to be changed, so'd I'd say that most of my complaints have been legitimate complains.
The only bullets that actually collide in that way are the API rounds, which can actually do friendly fire damage if you have one of your own vehicles in between your mg42 and your target.
Think about this in comparison to the other factions. You HAVE to use smoke as USF, you need to upgrade all your basic infantry with weapons as USF, ect.
For OKW it's pretty self explanatory, you have high costing munition upgrades and reduced income.
Ostheer is probably the most MP intensive faction, you need Muni for medics, upgrade all your basic inf, expensive mines, ect.
Soviet's just don't have as much upgrades, most of the stuff you high lighted are abilities like the demo, molotovs, oorah, and mines.
I'd say that not having a lot of upgrades doesn't mean a faction is not munitions heavy. All those munitions upgrades of the other factions make them better at bleeding the enemies manpower. To compensate, the soviet player needs to drain enemy MP with his munitions, which means using plenty of hoorah and mines. Spending munitions with the other factions (and thus optimizing the use of one of your resources) is just easier when you can spend it on LMGs, but they are not more munitions heavy in principle.
Though I'm pretty sure alex will come here, preaching how molos are best nades in the game, will boast how he torches whole armies with them and will not provide a single example of the ones inside of his head.
At this point you are just making yourself look like an idiot.
