Thread: Which way do you move the map around?17 Feb 2014, 16:23 PM I don't use control groups for mainline infantry, mostly because i can never keep track of which squad is where I do use control groups for unique units like snipers (a number close to retreat and hold fire hotkeys), some vehicles and artillery like howitzer and mortars (to instantly barrage an area and keep track of the reload timer) In: Strategy Desk
Thread: Which way do you move the map around?15 Feb 2014, 22:54 PM After trying all methods my favourite by far is using the tac map (with spacebar as hotkey for it) Here are the reasons why: -With spacebar i can easily get the tacmap without moving my hand for other hotkeys. -For me its much more precise then clicking on the minimap and thus i never have to adjust my screen after moving across the map -It keeps my mouse in the center of the screen where my units are, i don't have to move my mouse to the bottom left of the screen all the time as i have to do with minimap. -Because i use the tacmap for almost every screen movement i get an overview of the battlefield every few seconds, which helps me keep track of units and prevents squad losses. -I can move across the map faster when using tac map then when using the minimap (because of mouse positioning) For small distances (about one screen size away) i use my mouse to the edge of the screen (with high movement speed). That way it won't break the early game but act as an ability to replace lost veterancy by squad wipes. Also the recharge time should be massively increased to prevent spamming the ability and force players to think about wich unit to vet up. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Pak43 buff25 Nov 2013, 08:32 AM I think it's quite alright at the moment. I usually use it as a surprise unit to kill heavy tanks or su 85's. All the time it survives after killing a heavy tank is just bonus, as it's already paid for itself then. The only thing i miss is a hold fire button, because now it gives itself away by shooting at infantry and thus ruining the surprise. Btw, if you keep a halftrack and a pio squad nearby and repair and recrew it after every barrage it easally survives one katyusha shooting constantly at it. A katyusha usually doesn't even decrew it in one barrage. In: COH2 Balance
