I can't comment on whether US is too effective. I haven't played as them and I've only played against them a few times.
I will say that at my skill level, I have a vastly more comfortable game as OST as opposed to Sov. So, I support Ciez in that regard.
I also find that USA tends to get pretty weak in some of the team games.
I have a hard time understanding, now and before, why CoH players will say outside of the game that Allies are the stronger, yet in the game I'll watch them get slaughter. Just looking at the numbers alone you can see all Axis tools are better than Allied equivalents (if any exist). Sometimes it seems like the opinion is that if Grenadiers get beat, then whatever beat them is OP. 240 is pretty cheap for soldiers, so I don't see why they end up being the standard everything else is judged on. The times I have felt overwhelmed by Allies have been few and far between and to be honest, I think that those games have been more about who I was against rather than what faction they chose. |
Panzerwerfer wasn't seen much before the katyusha was buffed, so why would it see more use if katyusha is nerfed? I don't get that. |

I just don't like that they go through buildings. That should cancel it or block the shot, so people have to at least put some thought into what they are doing. |
I don't find it strange that molotov fire damages it. If the bag was burned shouldn't the sand spill out? If you want it longer to cover more models, then just build another set of bags next to the one you have. You should wire the other side to stop ooorah from gaining your cover bonus. |
The damage would have to be toned down a lot to accomplish that. Each rocket does 200 damage. Any infantry it lands on will easily die, having only 80hp. So the damage can be toned down a little, but it won't have the effect your asking for. |
Panther is expensive, but I've never had accuracy issues with it. I have seen it miss rarely, but usually it hits medium and heavy targets. As a matter of fact, I think the only time I see it miss is while it's moving. |
This thread I truly thought was a joke/troll thread, but you guys are serious. Can anyone be more specific about what allied mediums have that are so overperforming compared to axis tanks? When I look through the states, axis has the very best tanks. Best penetration, speed, armor, and damage. With a little support, the monster tanks ate extremely difficult to beat, so I would like to know some specifics on what is so powerful with allied tanks. They are all cheap shit to me. |
Many of you calling for nerfs are mistaken on some things. The way I'm using it, even the old stats would wreck these okw blobs. I hit after the retreat when they are all clumped up at the base. Unless the damage per rocket is dropped below 80, squad wipes will occur.
You can hunt down katyusha even and especially in larger team games. I have lost several to simple assassins.
I didn't even realize that stuka has counterbattery. It doesn't get easier than that. Just 1 rocket blows katyusha
I think many also don't realize that katyusha was very damaging before, because everyone went t3. I'm not saying this add a way to say Katy is fine now, but rather that the way many people play okw is still going to result in them losing all infantry to Katy. My team build before the patch has not changed, I started going Katy first to bomb trucks on retreat and it wiped lots of squads then.
Light vehicles could be destroyed before as well, most can't take more than 4 80 damage rockets. That means that precision strike will destroy a light vehicle before the patch.
Speaking of precision strike, some of these encounters sound like stories of such. It squad wiped before.
The reversion of the recent patch changes will mostly have an effect of allowing buildings to last longer. Everything else the rockets where destroying before will still get destroyed with maybe a little less rng. I have found that the ambient buildings get destroyed faster now, but I have also learned to maximize the amount of rockets that hit where i want.
Some say they are losing tanks to rockets. While it's possible, this concern seems like it has more to do with being outplayed. The rockets have a very low penetration and considering they would impact the top of a tank where the armor is not that good, it's not such a difficult thing to imagine would possible. Still it's not very often that rocket goes through. If your getting hit by 3 katyusha, then your doing something wrong, because it's very hard to protect 3. That would consume most of the pop cap not leaving room for tank destroyers. There needs to be a level of personal accountability here, not that relic should just nerf things because you can't destroy it often enough barely trying. Even good players on the top ten would have difficulty protecting this clumsy thing.
The extreme fragility and high relative costs warrants the high damage factor to me.
