Not really. Get position advantage, land good nade and you'll chase off shocks. There is also this hipster stuff, ambush camo, which makes PGs win easily against shocks.
I was using ambush camo against the shock spammer where I could. Against anything but shocks it's amazingly good with grenadiers. It's awesome with hmg as well if you can get enough cover to hide all the men. Smoke messes it up with the hmg though. I have not had good luck using it with PG's though. |
LMG grens are shock food. Even 2:1 grens are unlikely to succeed. Just to keep them alive you have to retreat before shocks get close. That's assuming grens are spaced away from each other. The LMG is also clumsy and it's optimal range is countered with smoke. So although the LMG is set to have better performance than stg44, the overall lower rof and lack of stopping power means that gren+HMG is going to be more effective than gren+more grens. To me the LMG is more of a soft counter because of the way shocks are used and how fast they dispatch of grens. It seems to me like PG's have to be used defensively until the vet2 bonus, then they can be more offensive. I'm trying to use them in each game, but they are not paying off infantry-wise. |

no. it's still Ostwind. Jagdtiger will miss and then you have long reload.
Seriously though, I know ostwind is not cheap, but shock spam isn't either. |

.87...it doesn't feel that way. Maybe I'm using them wrong. It feels like they are no better than cons really. Maybe it's just because most of my engagements have been vs shocks. If anything a little 5 or 10 percent penetration could be added to mp44 close range/mid range to help even out the shock/pg matchup some. Shocks should still win 1:1, but would not leave the battle ready for the next. |
Hey I love the tripwire, wtf. That's the most fun way to kill axis sniper. Since they reduced the AOE on Normal mines, I find that often times I get a better value out of 40mu in trpwire vs 30mu in mines. Much better chance to wipe squad and the trips don't stop the squad from moving forward into other trips much. |

I couldn't find it. Game was really long and I got invited to games so I gave up. I'll upload it if anyone wants to review the many shock battles, but the player rarely attacked with less than 2 shock squads. I found another mistake too, he actually did make a single con squad at the start, haha.
If someone wants to spam shocks now, I just get ostwind. It works well. |
Are they 9 pop? Coh2Stats shows 2 pop per man, which would be 8. I think 8 is a good value for them. 9 is a too much.
Do they have a received accuracy bonus now before vet2?
If they get a survive-ability bonus on an equivalent level of 1.5 armor, they should be priced at 360 once again. |
I don't think it's just rng. It's rng and high armour. 3 paks to the front and 2 panthers in the rear (one of them a command panther) couldn't take out 1 of 3 IS-2s. They never tried to maneuver, just sat there and tanked all the shots while focusing down my tanks. We were focusing on one IS-2 and it never went below 25% hp.
I've never seen a tiger just shrug off multiple dedicated AT shots like that while at the same time obliterating squads with its 4.0 AOE.
It is just rng. High armor value still relies on rng. Rng controls it all.
A Tiger wouldn´t have bounced that many shots from a SU-85, Zis and T-34/85. StuGs with less range than a Su-85 and no turret should actually be able to somewhat reliably pierce through a heavy tanks armor. After all we see 85mms going through everything also.
The point was to show that it´s not just uncommon rng bad luck. I have those kind of bounces on a regular basis. Rng dependent but common, very common. And if one can park his tank unharmed in the middle of StuGs, Paks etc and pick them off without trouble, the game experience is bad.
I have had instances where people weren't paying attention to tigers for good few minutes and I pound on it from max range with SU-85 with more bounces than the video. Penetrations were less than 50%. I think I uploaded replay too, but it might be other version.

They can be kept the same, just reduce the cost. They are 340 right now. When they were 360 they had armor. As they are now with no armor they should be much less than 20mp less. Something like 300 makes more sense to me. |
