I would take the comet over the panther every time.
What you seem to be discounting is the fact the panther have a considerably longer reload/cool down. The comet on the other hand he much better rear armour, speed and accuracy on the move. Once the panther is forced to move any advantage it had was gone. Missing a shot for a panther is not a good situation. As for the veterancy, comets get much faster and gets better turret rotation. Generally speed/mobility/consistency > amour/health.
I will admit to recieving a great deal of satisfaction playing axis, I enjoy the tanks. I think your the fan boy, because there is an obvious powerlevel/cost issue here and your standing with you feet dug in pretending like it's not an issue.
I don't think I said anything was secifically OP, I said that the cost of the units/emplacements was more efficient than any of their counterparts measured up against any faction.
1v1 for both okw and oh, I have over 50% W/L. Most of my games played recently are with my friend, who doesn't even own his own computer, on my 2 gaming rigs.
Two major points. Bring the cost in line with the performance of the rest of the factions. Nothing is op except for the Bofors in 2v2.
Someone said you only had 12 games as allies right? so in your 12 games of brits you got comets.
And in the larger sense, it's a slap in the face to the tradition of COH, which was originally about maneuvering, flanking, and cunning micro and tactics. All you can do is bomb it, or waste a lot of manpower assaulting it.
It lowers the skill cap of the game by its very existence.
It makes skilled players mad because their skill means nothing since any noob can throw up a Bofors and it will take only slightly less time for a top 10 player to get rid of it then another noob.
For me though LeFH is sufficient enough. I dont have to pay fuel for it and i can build it as far as the moon and hit emplacements. I love it when it hits vet 3, ready to barrage again in like 5 seconds since it fires extra shells. Also it starts cool down when it starts firing
I am opposed to any buff to the panzerwerfer in principle. That thing deletes squads better than anything.
Well what if its a modifier that makes its rockets deal extra damage to emplacements if it lands on or near the emplacements but it wont do extra damage to other nearby units? Like the Stuka, it gets a damage modifier against emplacements but it does not deal extra damage to other nearby units.
This game has been an arty party since the first coh :\ Relic tried to get rid of that but then support weapons like mortars became crap and useless. Personally I find it fun.
