Answering title:
Because no one believes that and it's not a matter of there been a difference in 1v1 vs teamgames as opposed to other factions.
As they say, you are entitled to your own opinion, but don't be surprised when the world disagrees with it. |
what? so the panther SHOULDNT be able to 1v1 the perishing??? I'm confused, if the panther cant beat the perishing 1v1, you saying the perishing should win then? that would make the perishing incredibly OP as a panther is considered its counter. if you want the panther to do what the Jackson does to the tiger, then you OK with giving the panther 60 range?
secondly, the perishing does have excellent AI power, very good penetration above average armour and 960HP .
No, he is saying the PV should be killing the PV, but the way it does is too simplistic compared to other TDs (slugging it out) and that the Pershing (his opinion) AI has been basically overnerfed.
I think this the situation is kinda similar to that of the Tiger (people considered it overnerfed as well).
In regards to the Pershing, i would bring a different PoV. Disregarding if it's performance is fine or not, maybe adjusting the performance to it's cost would be a better approach. |
The only real reason they aren't like this is because it would mean Lelic would need to put in extra work to decide what every single non-OKW unit in the game would have for their vet 4 and 5.
Remember that they don't even get Fiveman Vet on captured Ostheer vehicles/equipment, it's not some "thematic training issue".
Also: An MG crewed with Shock Troops takes the same population space as one crewed with Conscripts. non-soviet MGs do cost two more pop when crewed by any soviet unit though, simply as they have two extra models over what they're "meant" to have. I presume this is all you mean.
1- Yep. Also even if they are the same unit, they are different entities with their own profiles. With years some units had been made to be similar and even the PV which basically have the same weapons, have different vet (Combat bliz =/= Blitzkrieg and vet 3)
2- Popcap system has been reworked through out the years. Before, each member of the squad used to have a fraction value of the total cost of the squad.
Nowadays it's squad popcap cost + 1 for each member.
Recrewing with elite squad support weapons end up been a bad idea, due to the cost to reinforce. |
the ling is already included in OP .
Cause i added. I think it was relevant for people to understand what Chaos Kreig was, as people might not skim through the thread reading every comment. |
What is the point of this thread?
Ask OP. He just copy paste (without sourcing who did it) the WR for a fun tournament with custom rules.
Maybe people don't check or discuss as much in "news" threads compared to the forum subsection. But not sure what is to be discussed in regards to a custom rules tournament. |
For those who don't know what it was:
Featuring 250 VPs and random maps, the format was designed, as the name implies, to introduce maximum chaos while still keeping things fair and balanced in a tournament format.
There are a lot of changes in Chaos Krieg compared to previous ML events. Of course, this is most likely due to the 250 VP change, putting a greater focus on the early game and reducing the chances of a drawn-out game slim-to-none. This is most clearly reflected in faction selection which biased USF and Ostheer over the others.
To me, there were two pieces of data that stood out the most. First, is the lack of ace games. In Man lebt nur Zweimal, there were a plethora of ace games in all rounds of the tournament. Three of the four upper bracket quarter finals matches were split 2-1 and all of the upper bracket semi-finals, too. In the lower bracket, half of the matches on day two were split 2-1. In Commander Terminator, there were a healthy amount of ace games, too. In Chaos Krieg, only two matches were played out to their final round.
The second piece of data is the lack of seed upsets. In Man lebt nur Zweimal there were many upsets throughout, despite the fact that Luvnest, seeded first, came out on top in the end. In Commander Terminator it was much the same, with Luvnest being knocked out in the second round. With Chaos Krieg, we saw all eight seeds make it to the final eight spots and the upsets only came in the quarter finals. |
Seems like some people just discovered the thread on announcements. Gonna paste in the opening post.

This has to be the worst idea i have ever heard. you don't balance units by modifying their capping speed. Relic did many thing wrong with units balance but there is an obvious reason why they removed this debuff.
The unit is only problematic on 1v1, therefore they type of nerf it should get should try to compromise as little as possible performance on other game modes if possible (not like Osstruppen should necessary be viable on all modes).
I'm pretty sure there are plenty of other units with positive capping speeds still in the game. |
Rifles get a combined 38% RA boost, Volks get 24%, this is on top of rifles having a better target size than Volks by default. They also have the potential of double BARs (Even a single one is better than STGs, to my knowledge)
Bonuses are multiplicative nor additive. |
As i said in another thread, why not re-implement the reduced capping speed they had when released? |
