Copypaste of yesterday post and adding information: -PW/CalliOP rocket IS slightly stronger than Katyusha/LM -PW has suppression but higher FF. -PW/Katyusha deal full damage against heavy cover. CalliOP/LM half. -CalliOP/Katyusha range is 200, PW is 160 and LM 120. If you use ANY of them at 70/80 range you will wipe whatever target. -CalliOP (380mp/140f/12pop), LM (350mp/40f/10pop), Katy/PW (360mp/85f/12pop). I owe you the recharge times. -ALL ROCKETS deal the same damage (80), have the same pen (50) and deflection (0.25). -Rocket fires: Katy 4x4, PW 1x10, CalliOP, 1x10-1x8/10, LM 1x30 (around 20s at max range) What makes CalliOP/LM good are: -The commanders they are in. -They are call ins instead of teching (PW is not bad, but it's on T4). -The amount of rockets, which makes them more relevant on 2v2+, specially on choke maps. What makes LM good: Veterancy. Current: -25% barrage recharge time +33% damage -25% barrage recharge time Change it to: Unlocks White Phosphorus barrage -40% barrage recharge time -20% scatter +33% range This is PW veterancy for comparison: Unlocks the 'Counter Barrage' ability -20% scatter, -40% barrage recharge +33% range In: COH2 Balance

I think that was combined with their old vet though. I was not in alpha, but since beta: -They used to come from Rapid Conscription (Opieop) -They were a 360mp unit equivalent in cost with PG at that time. Satchel was a nuke bomb which would wipe any squad in deep snow and kill Penal models as well. Their SVT worked like G43 but they did drop models fast against LMG42/PG. They had the only flamer in the game which didn't explode. -Not sure about the old veterancy (when OH double HP at vet2) but when they changed it, it remain the same as we have it now (bar the "To the last man". Oorah was at vet1) -When they removed armor from infantry, they made them 270mp unit from 360mp. So they basically never saw competitive play cause either T1 was too expensive (we use to start with less mp and tiers had a higher mp/fuel cost) or because they didn't provide anything useful (for flamer you had CE). Penals are suffering the same fate as Su76. No one used them in 3.5 years, so it's hard to adjust and balance it properly. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: The Land Matress is to strong18 Jan 2017, 19:03 PM Strong points: SU: Penals, mortar, AT gun, LM, mark vehicle, UKF: sniper, AT gun, Cromwell/Comet, LM, PIATs, OH: mortar, sniper, Opel/Strafe, Stug, Tiger OKW: Kubel, Puma, rak, Volk/Ober, JT The game overall was pretty balanced, specially on the early/mid game. I think the couple of key points were: -UKF countersnipe (winning the "sniping" rights and vision, specially for indirect fire) -SU throwing T3485 for not a Kubel kill (which resulted on basically going "all in" with AT gun-Penal-mortar" -Losing Stuka and thus conceding the indirect fire battle. -Axis winning the medium fight battle but not transitioning in order to deal with AT gun wall therefore not putting pressure with mediums to "seal" the game. -Throwing medium tanks at around 45min and later the kill on the JT. I think everyone got high and lows but UKF (HelpingH) was more solid through the whole game. Jove was doing fine till he lost all his mediums and transition into vet0 grens at that point in the game (just let Alastor get PF). IMO if there was a single key moment, was losing the Stuka. Biggest mistake of the match, leaving it during the full-duration (20s) of the barrage. They had no way to deal with 2/3 120mm mortars and 2 LMs (Stuka at vet4 would laugh at either AT guns or LM with both rocket and flame barrage, as they have separate cds, instead of using Assault Artillery). I also wonder why OH didn't transition into T4 (had mp/fuel). Brummbar/PV/PW all would had work. PD: i'm sure none of you notice THE RNG MOMENT of the game. CalliOP is the best of both worlds, but it's more expensive (single target wiper/area denial). LM is extremely fragile, has lower mobility but has huge area denial. CalliOP was nerfed in the wrong way. Instead of removing the last salvo, they should had made each salvo have equal amount of rockets. IIRC it was 10- 8/10 - 4. It should had been 6/6/6 or 8 (although this would made it really good against emplacements) LM not really sure unless slowing down the salvo. Same amount of rockets but in a slightly slower RoF. If this was the v1.0 you are correct. I think there's a missconception here between WBP and live. Whatever insaneHoshi says seems to be more to what LIVE looks like while you are exclusively talking about WBP. If we talk about LIVE: UKF vehicles > OKW vehicles "in general". Same with AT options, mostly due to having a reliable AT gun + PIAT attack ground combo for late game + cheap engineer (cause they get vet3 due to PIATS). AEC-Crushwell-Comet vs P2-Puma-Cromwell-Comet is what you'll see 90% of the time. If we talk about WBP: Yeah, most things have changed for better. Still: -Overall non vehicle AT options should be equalized. Pounder is still better than rak, PIATS are more affordable to use than schreck (you need at least 1 sweeper) but OKW still get easy to use snare which puts both factions on equal level. -Vehicle wise it remains the same with the exception of AEC = P2/Puma and FF > JPIV (FF is more reliable and cheese hasn't been nerf) If an AT nade like snare is to be implemented on the base faction non doctrinally, then you first have to take a look at Pounder bonus accuracy, Cromwell, Comet, late game IS double LMG performance. It always seems like the two gunners are a lot harder to hit from the front, although they do die from grenades, so I shoulda guessed. Because if there is snowflake OKW you are gonna get wreck by flak bunkers. IF you are dominating someone, you can just use a major/captain and retreat/on me to bypass the suppression from bunkers. The gun itself is really small and offers no cover, unlike the other at guns, which offer green cover to the gunners, so the 2 rak gunners clump up close together and can easily get one-shotted by a tank, and if the other two guys are nearby usually it will result in a wiped rak. I've done this many many times with cromwells and HE shermans. There is a little misconception with the bold part. Copy-paste from an older post: Unfortunately you are wrong. At least on 90% of the cases and for what it matters most of the time. 1-The AT gun does not provide green cover for the guys operating the weapon. You do full damage (i can't test accuracy outside of making a mod) either through small arm fire or explosives (grenades or mortar shells for example). Easy to check by either killing the crew with a grenade/mortar or activating the dmg indicator on cheatmods. 2-The AT gun ITSELF does create green cover and each of them has a hitbox (which can blocks incoming shots). The thing is, it's mostly irrelevant for the crew due to formation. Check the pic (for some reason the rak 4th guy spread out) So yeah, green cover on the AT gun for the crew is useless, cause a shell landing on top of it will kill the 2 operating guys and heavily wound the 3rd guy which might be nearby. That been said, it's not worthless putting AT guns behind cover, cause that will protect the operators. In: COH2 Gameplay
