Thread: Frustrated26 Oct 2013, 23:30 PM I think balance changes of T-34 were spot on. Previously you could basically only go for T4 SU if you wanted a fair chance of winning, going for T3 was a risky move. This made meta so stale that it wasn't funny. Now you can go either T3 or T4 and have good odds. And as a bonus, T-34s are no longer cheesy Elephant-rammer. All is fine with T-34 changes imo. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: The state of soviet tier 1?1 Oct 2013, 18:59 PM Penals are cool. I use them a lot nowadays but yeah it can backfire hard if you lose mapcontrol for too long and they sneak a fast tank out. I think satchel charges are fine as they are. Its not only good against unaware opponents but also weapon teams if they don't start to pack up immediately when they see the penal squad. there is a problem though: sometimes it seams that not the closest guy throws the satchel charge and they are shredded to peaces or get suppressed before any throwing happens. It would feel so much better to play this game with quick unit respons instead of the "huh, what did you say? Oh you want us to stop and go the other way?" This issue is even more pronounced in team games. I feel this makes blobbing more viable. In: COH2 Gameplay

I cant seem to use deep snow and blizard strategically (yet) so they are mostly anoying features in 1v1 which encourage a more passive gameplay. I noticed this especially on Langreskaya winter, where the deep snow makes it really hard to micro units (it makes the map especially sniper friendly). In: COH2 Gameplay

They are the hardest cover in the game, and yes, that needs to reflect especially on Snipers, against how otherwise infantry has no recourse but autoretreat. Infantry need somewhere to go when faced with Snipers, other than auto-retreating. I agree that well protected and microed soviet snipers are really hard to deal with at the moment and that this should be addressed somehow, but I don't think that the answer should be stick units into buildings, because it favors static boring gameplay. They are a infantry counter already in the field, they dont need it vs buildings too. At the moment, buildings just provide insane amount of protection. If you like to camp, this is a good thing, but I personally don't like campy gameplay. It also limits strategic choices (for example with soviets you simply cannot afford not to tech molotovs). Again, I don't think that snipers should be necessarily a dedicated building counter, I just say that a unit (especially an mg) in a building shouldn't be able to deny a territory for as long as it does now.
