So I had just got my Jackson about thirty seconds after both enemy players bought PzII's.... WOOOO HOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

I had some pathfinders in the same control group as my Jackson for spotters. They sent some infantry and the Pz II's in not knowing about my Jackson. LET THE MURDER PARTY BEGIN!!!!!!!!!

Shit starts flying I smack a PZ for over half it's health. Their ISG and infantry start eating up my pathfinders. Being a commander who loves my men I selected the group with the hot key and mashed the fuck out of 't' to get them out of there. (Because I've had *serious* problems where the command does not register and I lose squads. This is an unacceptable issue IMO, and it's been there since launch.........)

My pathfinders haul ass out of there.

Then my Jackson de-crews.

Then the crew hauls ass out of there.

Then I got to find out what it's like to be a guest at the murder party instead of the host.....

Dear relic, please change the default hotkey to de-crew a vehicle.

I agree with kreatiir that luftwaffe should be banned. And @armatak, lend lease commander fuel drop ranges from 20-40 fuel at the cost of 100 munitions and it appears from enemy base which it can be shot down easily. The luftwaffe has much more advantage as its 200 manpower for 5 fuel drops(50 fuel),planes flies from your base and drop the supplies safely.

Were they even thinking about the OKW when they designed the lend/lease fuel drop? I think the base defense AA isn't a good plane killer (thankfully) but there are usually 3-4 that will have a chance to shoot it down. Then there's the flak truck that will almost invariably lie somewhere between the two bases (unless they pop it down in a corner of the map). That thing is a good aircraft killer.

IMO grenades are great. I've seen the odd throw land on the wrong side of the wall before, which sucks and negates all damage. If you want to flush troops from cover try landing the grenade a little behind the cover instead of at their feet in cover. This is much harder to completely dodge and leave your opponent with a few really crappy options.

* Eat the grenade and hope the squad comes out OK. (It's a little behind him, maybe he thinks it's too far)

* Run back/away to dodge like normal. (Risky but doable. If your throw is good and they are late with moving or don't realize you threw behind them the squad will be over the grenade when it blows)

* Vault over the cover to dodge. (It saves them from the grenade, but now they are on the wrong side of the cover and easy are pickings. Even if they quickly vault back you should do enough damage [+ not taking damage while they move] to win the fight.

* Move left/right to dodge. (This is the best play, particularly if they are in a long piece of cover.)

* Retreat. (They will move faster, but with a little luck they are still over your grenade when it blows. Retreating does not provide protection from AoE damage like grenades. )

Considering the issues I have with blobs, I rely heavily on grenades at all stages of the game. Perhaps too much. I've lost squads to the insane damage rate of blobs trying to get a grenade off.

O/T Remember the old bug where you used a rifle grenade, but moved/canceled and it still at your muns? Yea, it's back. At least for the USF when using grenades. Usually cancels correctly, but there exists a window where you can still cancel the throw, but it eats the muns.

I replied this to another guy over on the reddit post. I think I may have overstated the effect I see the change having.

I don't think it's nearly as sweeping of a change as you interpret it. Maybe I came off as sounding like I want to wipe out several squads simultaneously. You know how models adjacent to the target model can take damage from MGs? That, but applied to models from adjacent squads (not sure if in) and granted to *all* infantry (rifles, grens, scripts, etc. - This is not in the game to my understanding). I feel like this is a soft change that won't force people to play differently. It will just *adjust* the rank the match make at.

* With balancing of course.

Another thing that doesn't help is the sheer prevalence of infantry with long range DPS.

I'm not sure what would solve the problem that is feasible by Relic. A received accuracy bonus for blobbed (3+ units within like 10 meters) infantry could work. But we don't need to increase general infantry lethality either. I've also been in favor of adding suppression to some artillery pieces, but I'm not certain how it would work in the game proper.

Yup. A few obers or 1919 paras and you can practically just attack-move your way to victory.

I though about buffing some anti-blob, but feared making OP units.

Here, I think I found something that CoH does a poor job of authentically representing ('shooting fish in a barrel' - Densely packed targets). I think it improves authenticity and addresses an issue with the current balance of the game quite nicely.

To mention an alternative. You could spin this idea back around and reduce the outgoing accuracy of blobbed units. Hard to shoot well when people keep bumping you and Hans keeps popping his head right into your sights. This reduces the benefits of blobbing w/o affecting unit survivability.
