I also think that comparing anything to UKF is somewhat pointless; UKF is simply a poorly designed faction. At release, they were lacking so many of the basic tools that they were inherently going to end up flipping between 'incredibly OP' (ex. release-state brace) and 'completely useless', based entirely on the stats of a few units (IS, AEC, and a few others). Now that they're starting to get some of the basic tools (i.e. snares), they're getting better, as their balance can be based around more units and/or abilities. However, there's still a lot of issues, such as the balancing related to 'bolster', the lack of a normal mortar (or similar), the lack of garrison clearing in the early game, etc.
UKF is going to be a mess until that's addressed, and until then, factions really shouldn't be compared to them.
When brits came out, the forum people said they are "well designed". I can still look for the threads stating this |
In my opinion one of the biggest problems of Ostheer are their Lategame Infantry issues. The 5-men gren/panzergren mechanic leads more often than not to "1 shot of sherman/t34/cromwell/Bar Rifle / BRen Tommy and the squad loses 1 or 2 models instantly" so you have to retreat again and gained nothing. Hence no staying Power in lategame whatsoever.
So my Suggestion is, similar to the 7-man con squad, unlocking the option in t4 to add a 5th member to the pioneer squad with a further option TO REPLACE THE PIONEER MP40 WITH KAR98, so Osthheer has more infantry options and less frustrating cheese in lategame. This would also help make t4 more atttractive and the gameplay more diverse.
What are your thoughts on this? |
How, in your opinion, should Ostheer be changed |
are u blind? sent on its own to the front? the sov player attacked the tiger, and the tiger was clearly supported, and it got deleted in a matter of seconds, even if it had 5 panthers supporting, it still would have been destroyed. you just seem to be obsessed or have an agenda against vipper, did he steal your girl or something
try pulling off that maneuvre yourself if it's so op |
as Tightrope would say - Huuuuge mistake, very sloppy play
i read that in his voice |
Thank you all!
thank you for posting here and be open to constructive advice instead of crying out in balance forum |

the main problem is the wipes by sherman/IS2/scott which is caused by the 4 man type inf |
Main issue with 5 men Grenadiers at this point is stacking on the LMG which would make it one of the strongest infantry units in the game since you'd have to chew through 4 models to reach the LMG and Grenadiers per model have good stats. This is on top of being a snare squad with rifle grenades.
One the ideas we've been thinking of ideas, but it's not the easiest as it might stack too much power, but we will see what turns out.
We've talked about things like faster cap speeds end game after T4 so Ost will start pushing the offensive; reinforce has been discussed, though there was talk about a global cost reduction on Ostheer infantry in reinforce.
what about the option to add 5th member by cancelling out the mg42 when in t4, just like the doctrine. give the doctrine something else in return |
What is the problem with the 5 men Grenadier in t4 again? |
