Too lazy/tired to look through thread real quick.
Another exploity sort of bug/feature/mechanic is sturmtiger reloading.
Sturmtigers have a very high probability to be decrewed while reloading, though if recrewed are fully reloaded no matter how soon after.

>blow my massive load
>start reload in front of ally scum
>sacrific crew for glory of fatherland
>recrew with sick children and the elderly

Since tank smoke is not a default ability of ost I would think that making actions based off the knowledge of what commander your enemy is using is the logical excuse for the mechanic's strength.
If you know your opponent has picked a doctrine with tank smoke, when you get in a tank engagement having that knowledge your approach to that engagement should change to some degree, whether that is having one tank prepared to circle around after your enemies targets have been selected or using infantry to get your longer range tanks vision.
I am unsure if I can be unbiased in judging the strength of this ability since I tend to pick doctrines with it for you aforementioned woes. While it does seem quite strong I do believe there are ways to play around it and use the knowledge you gain of your enemy's strategy via seeing it go off to your own advantage.

This game was back and forth for quite a while but ISU-152's, conscripts and SU-85s put us on our heels after some major enemy plays. Luckily they made the mistake of moving deep with ISU's to put heavy pressure on us and we caught them out for minimal losses. This set us up to make one more big tank play to have the game in the bag. Well played by everyone. |
We had quite a good foothold going but a mass of quads made some sad times begin. Some solid tank movements made this one very fun. |
